We are seeking a Hands-on Director of Semiconductor Operations - MEMS, for our Boston, MA area based client

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- While working in a hands-on capacity, plan, lead and build a small team in process engineering, QA, product engineering and test, packaging as well as other back end semiconductor operational functions.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with all external manufacturing
vendors including CMOS and MEMS foundries, packaging and test houses
- Develop manufacturing plans with continuous yield improvement and cost reduction

QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS or better in EE
- 12+ years of semiconductor industry experience
- 3+ years of specific MEMS products backend operation with respect to design for manufacturing
- Must possess hands-on knowledge of (metal seal)wafer bonding process, as well as packaging experience
- 5+ years of managerial experience
- Proven track record of managing and driving manufacturing operations in a fabless semiconductor or MEMS company, and dealing with MEMS fabs/outsourcing to IC fabs
- Possess established contacts within the packaging assembly and test industries
- Good knowledge of semiconductor process engineering
- Experience in product qualification for both, implementation and execution, of the
required tests
- Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel (up to about 20%)

DESIRABLE/ASSETS:
- Experience working in a start-up environment
- Experience with active implementation of ERP and related logistic and control
systems.
