Query Active Shards

I have a three node cluster that is performing a peer bootstrap.  It seems to be taking a very long time.  Is there a way to query the active shards available or any way to determine the progress of the bootstrap?

when I do an

curl http://localhost:7201/api/v1/placement

I get the status of all the shards of every node:

Maybe this is already what you want... It does not show progress though (in my case initialization does not work, so all shards are still in "INITIALIZING" state)...
