Greetings, everyone.

I'm hoping to try out a few ideas for a logo today.

Here are four things you can do to help:
  1. Find logos or graphics or fonts that you like on the web, and explain how what you like or how we might do something similar for "Robot Video Academy".  [ex: Take a look at the type used for "LEGO Smart Creativity Contest" here.  I love the use of white text with a bold black outline on a white background, and will try that for RVA.]
  2. Play with an online logo generator and if you come up with interesting results, show us -- e-mail them to the group with your name and a number (ex. "Clinton 1", "Clinton 2", "Jim 1", etc), and perhaps a note of the settings used to generate the result.
  3. If you are artistically inclined, try putting together a few rough ideas, and post them to the group as above.
  4. Please comment on the different logos; help us make a good one.
Time sure flies swiftly.  I've been playing with ideas for the website, but have decided to step back from that a get this logo out of the way.

Cheers,
Clinton

I've always liked "Superhero" logos that would also make nice patches... just a thought.

Your comment has got me thinking in a different direction, Jim.  I was kind of thinking along the lines of "let's just make the text look nice", but now I am thinking, "let us have a symbol".

Attached are some sketches that my wife, Cayleen, drew.  They'll be known as Cayleen 1 through Cayleen 6.

Cheers,
Clinton

Can we legally have an NXT image in the logo even if it is just a cartoon likeness?

An excellent question.  I have no idea.

Perhaps it is best, then, for our logo to not have anything that is recognizable as an NXT in it.  (A generic 'brain brick' ought to be fine, though.)

Here are some more logo ideas.

When one looks up 'Academy' on google images, they are likely to get crests representing universities.  I tried to do something like that in Clinton1.  [Incidentally, I really like two logos from gearbots.org -- the one on the bottom left, for Yale Secondary School, and the one in the top middle, for GearBots].

Image Clinton-2 is a take on just the text in a nice font ('futured', IIRC) with a white outline.

I didn't really like the end result of the crest I'd done, but I really liked the gear, and worked with it to create Clinton-3.

Thoughts?  Tweaks?

Cheers,
Clinton

So do I.

It is simple and crisp.
