Hello from Norway!
Can anybody help me?
Back in the early seventies I heard a song (I think it was on Radio Lux). As
far as I remember, the opening phrase was "There was a doggie, a sweet
little doggie", and further on I think it went like "I guess that doggie
will always follow me".

I have not heard this song since then. I've searched the web for the lyrics,
without any succes. And I don't know the name of the singer.

Therefore I will be thankful if anyone out there can help me finding out
this.

Dear Per-Heine,

Seven years have passed since you posted your question. I have only just found it in this Google group. I was wondering whether you ever found out. I have the same question; I even recorded this song (in the mid-seventies, on cassette), but I stopped recording before the DJ said who the band were. I still have that recording, and I have tried to find out the name of the singer or band without any luck. If you know, I would be very grateful if you could help me!

Best wishes,
Wim

Hello Wim!
Luckily I saw your letter today, more than a year too late. This is a media I usually don't visit, so I apologise that I haven't answered until now.

When I asked for information on the subject, I got an answer, -I think it came from a guy in Finland. The song is simply called "Doggie", and the artist is a Group called "Candlewick Green". I have not found it on Spotify or other streaming sites, except from this version on You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBefVVVRp9s

Maybe you already have found it yourself, but I hope you enjoy listening one more time anyway.

With regards
Per-Heine
