I love being a part of helping another artist succeed. This can range from helping an accomplished artist increase their ability to perform--to assisting someone at the very beginning simply start and begin to learn and become proficient.
Your teacher is a multi-award winning international pianist Stephen Ridley, who taught himself piano from the age of 2 before starting formal training at 11. He discovered in his early years, through much trial and error, a completely unique way to learn piano and understand music, which involved breaking down learning piano into 55 key steps, each as simple and time consuming as brushing your teeth, and that when properly guided through these in an exact correct order, mastering each one in turn, that they would inevitably end up achieving success.
"I am very pleased with the Ridley Academy and Steve's teachings. He has broken down learning how to play the piano in to bite size pieces that can be learned, practiced and incorporated into my style and knowledge of the piano. Steve is very motivating in his animated teaching style. He keeps me enthusiastic and motivated to hang in there and learn what I need to know and be able to perform as I improve my skill. He also understands how to play from a practical viewpoint in stead of a theoretical standpoint. I also like to be able to pursue learning at my own pace and convenience and his attention when I miss practicing a day or two here or there helps me to get back on track. There are many advantages to learning how to play this way. It takes away a lot of the fear and shame that I remember when learning how to play as a young child. I wish I had learned this way when I was younger. Learning this way makes me feel younger at 79 and makes it a lot more fun!"
"I am very impressed with the way the lessons are taught and the units are easy to understand and carry out. Unfortunately there is currently no German translation, that would be even more helpful, but at least this way I can brush up on my somewhat rusty English skills. They care a lot about the course participants and go to great lengths to support everyone, regardless of their level. I'm a complete beginner and I'm still very happy with my progress because everyone progresses at their own pace. I am very happy with my decision and would do it again and again because it also involves incredible personal development. I benefit from the Ridley Academy masterclass on several levels.Greetings to all those who are undecided - IT'S WORTH BEING IN!!!"
"Super inspiring, not only as a piano coach, but also as a mentor. Stephen keeps his promises. The individual learning steps are really comprehensible and really fun! I look forward to every single day that gives me a feeling of success again and it is so much more than just learning to play an instrument!"
