I'm not sure if we are related or not and I hope you can help me with that. I am related to a Sarah Hague and a James Hague which may be the same Sarah and James Hague listed on your your Johnston 2 page as children of William and Lettice Hague.

The Sarah Hague that I am related to was married to William Braddock and had a son William Braddock. I found them in the 1841 England census living with William Hague. They were living in Werneth (Stockport), Cheshire. The ages listed for Sarah and William are in the same range as the Sarah and William on your page. They moved to the United States in about 1845.
Do you think they are a match?

I am also related to a James Hague. He moved to the United States in about 1849. In the 1900 US census he is listed as being born in Aug 1825 not Aug 1826 but the census may be incorrect.

The reason I think my relatives, Sarah and James, are brother and sister is because I found Sarah living in the same building in the England census (as described above), as Josiah and Elizabeth Osborn and their daughter Ann. James later married their daughter (Ann Osborn) in the United States in 1858 after his first wife died. The Osborn family moved to the United States in about 1845. I found the Osborn and Braddock families living next door to each other in the 1850 US census. I think James got to know the Osborn family either in England or the United States when visiting his sister.

Do you think James is a match? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to include in my original message that I found your site by searching for Hezekiah Hague. My relative Sarah Hague's second child was named Hezekiah and her only child to have children (William) named a son Hezekiah too. No other biblical names appear in the family except common names like John and James. Since Sarah and James are such common names I was looking for something unique to narrow things down. The Hezekiah Hague on your site seems to be the only Hezekiah Hague born in England in the correct time period to be a brother of Sarah. It all may be just a total coincidence.

Yes, we are related! Somehow I overlooked the fact that my relative Sarah Hague Braddock had an Ann Whitaker living with her in the 1850 US census. It shows Ann as age 13 (b.1837) born in England, which agrees the 1841 England census. I think that confirms my relative was indeed the daughter of William and Lettice Hague. I am so excited to have relatives (even distant ones) in New Zealand.
