Thank you Graham for your message.  I have a copy of the newspaper marriage notice.  The marriage certificate and Intention to Marry document both say LINTERN.  Now we have to ponder ... was Samuel's surname actually Linthorn and did he just decide to keep the name Lintern, or did the clerk putting in the newspaper notice not hear him properly?  Samuel was literate, so you'd think he'd spell out his name wouldn't you?

Another thread of tangled web for this couple, lol.
