Dear Lynda,
Your well researched and carefully annotated site has helped me in researching my Vernon ancestors - though it seems you doubt that Stephen & Abigail Vernon belong in your tree.
Happily, they belong in mine. Could you kindly tell me what you mean when you cite "family tree" as the source - as, for example, in the marriage of John Pearce and Hester Cocks?
Thanks.
Incidentally, family tradition has it that we are connected to Admiral Vernon ("Old Grog").

Hi C and thanks for your message.

As you would've seen, I researched the VERNONs when looking for the parents of our Mary Ann Vernon who turned out to be Mary Ann Vernon WOODWARD.

Regards the family tree source for John PEARCE & Hester COCKS: I have no further information, sorry.  The research was done in my early days of sleuthing and I was less diligent in writing down where I found the info.  It likely was a tree on 'Ancestry'.

Sorry I can't be of more help.  If you should find a link of our Mary Ann to your VERNONs, please do get back to me.

Cheers, Lynda
