Hi there I am a distant relative researching my family from Leicestershire in England to New Zealand and was referred to your site for info on the Mudgeway Wilmshurst and Taylor familes. My link comes through Frank Taylor of New Zealand his son Francis Taylor is my GGGrandfather.
I would need to check the full link but thought it worth saying thanks for what you have here, it is another basis of possible connections to family in NZ.

I wonder if there is an email link to this post please Lynda.
Am interested as my husbands side of the family comes from same please.
Also am wondering if there are any links to the Kilmisters in the family through the Burling side of the family. Thanks

I have sent a copy of your message to the person that posted the original message.  It was four years ago and their email address may no longer be valid, but here's hoping :)

Hi Linda:

My name is David and I live in NYC. I've been searching my McQuire family line for decades and it looks like it was either a made up name or bad transliteration of Muckaway. I am fairy certain my GGG Grandfather Henry McQuire was born as Henry Muckaway in 1813 to Elizabeth Muckaway and possibly James Heather. I had a couple of questions. I think the Heather info came from your site. May I ask the source? Did you find a bastardy record? Also, since I'm not 100% sure of this connection (only about 95%), do you know of any direct lined Muckaways? I'd like to see if they have any DNA test. I've tested on FTDNA, Ancestry, 23&me etc etc. so I'd be curious to see if I have a match with any of these people. It looks like most of them moved to New Zealand, where most of my line died out. I have 1 direct McQuire (Muckaway) left in the UK and a couple in Australia who are in their 80s.

Thank you
David Taylor

PS I don't usually use this email, I only logged in because it asked me. If if wouldn't be too much trouble to respond to davidta...@aol.com I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!
