Hi, am researching the petherick family - James Petherick arrived on
the Aurora in 1840. He owned Helston Farm on the old Porirua Road.
Could you please tell me if there is much info on him and his family
in the book 'Tawa Flat and the Old Porirua Road' or if you have any
other info at all - that would be great.

On 11 January 1844 Francis Alexander Molesworth transferred the
southern half of Section 14 (52 acres) to James Petherick. The
remaining 50 acres he transferred to Edward Jerningham Wakefield on 11
April 1845.

Electoral roll 1854-55 Wellington Country District:
James Petherick (claimant), freehold, Porirua Road, Plasterer, abode
of Willis Street.

Baptisms off Porirua Road residents as recorded in the early baptismal
rgisters 1842-1858 (Wesleyan Methodist) -
Elizabeth 30/1/44, baptised 2/2/45, dau of James Maryann Petherick,
farmer. Officiating minister: James Watkin.

Jury list in NZ Gazette and Wellington Spectator of 14 February 1844:
Petherick, James, carpenter.

Tenders called 8/12/1858 for keeping North Western Road in repair for
12 months from 1/1/1859. Tenders received:
James Petherick, 235 pounds.

There's nothing else about the PETHERICKs that I can see in the book;
no family information.
