Hi there someone has been very busy i am researching my family tree and i was wondering if you have any information on the Lunn family,3x Great-grandfather,he resided at the tresslic farm for a few years ,i believe they headed to christchurch.Any information would be so appericated or photo's.I found an article the other day in paper-past on Anne Lunn and Mr Peter Valler being charged over the abducation or Miss Lunn whom was in service at Mr Fox's residence .How ironic that she would elope some 5 or 6 yrs later with her fathers coachmen. My 2xGreat grandfather .

Kindest regards Sonia

The following excerpts are the only mention I can find of any LUNNs -

"...Upon the outbreak of the Taranaki War early in 1860, the cause being the dispute concerning the Waitara purchase, it was decided by Governor Gore Browne and his Executive Council that Militia should be enrolled and armed, all males between the ages of 16 and 55 being liable for service.  The NZ Spectator of 21 March 1860 states that a ballot was conducted the previous Saturday in the open space in front of the barracks in the presence of the Commanding Officer, Major Trafford.  The 300 names as published included the following residents of the Porirua Road districts..." - Lunn, David, Porirua Road, labourer.

"...A further ballot was drawn on Wednesday, 28 March, and included the following Porirua Road residents:..." - Lunn, James, Porirua Road, labourer.

Electoral roll, 1855-56 (printed in Gazette on 22 July 1856) -
Lunn, William, Porirua Road, farmer.
