The sound of pirate radio stations, jungle raves and Notting Hill Carnival in 1994, 'Worries in the Dance' came out on DJ Ron's London Somet'ing label and contained an early credit for one D. Quamina (DJ Stretch). It might not have sold as many units as, say, Leviticus 'The Burial', but make no mistake about it: for true junglists this is a bonafide classic, with its liberal sprinkling of vocal samples including 'what you gonna do, baby?', 'smoking sensimillia' and 'worries in the dance' transforming it from just another jungle smash into a catchy singalong classic.
It should be a movie title: 'When Amen met Reese'. This pivotal 1994 banger saw jungle fall head over heels for the growling, bum-rumbling baseline from Kevin 'Reese' Saunderson's house number 'Just Want Another Chance'. Retweaked and pitch-shifted by Renegade (aka Ray 'uncle of Joy Orbison' Keith), that totemic bass sound soared when layered under some Amen beats, a squelchy acid synth and an iconic piano riff that's made ravers hands raise up like Roger Moore's eyebrows ever since.
The original is awesome and extremely under rated. The fact that NWR as a whole appreciates it is basically the only reason I stick around.
This new edition is a travesty. How can you beat off without the drums? Garbage.
"I went over [to Large Professor's house], and he made the "Halftime" beat in front of me, and he was gonna give it to me at the time. I didn't know what to do with it. I didn't know why I didn't know what to do with it, because I loved the shit out the beat. Then I heard it on "Halftime," and I was like, Goddamn, I was a stupid ass for not touching this beat!"
"Halftime" features an up-tempo beat led by percussion and trumpets over which Nas rhymes. Memorable lines include "You couldn't catch me in the streets without a ton of reefer/That's like Malcolm X, catchin' the Jungle Fever" and "I'm as ill as a convict who kills for phone time."[4] Nas also uses this song to give a "shout-outs" to Willie "Ill Will" Graham, Nas' childhood neighbor and best friend, who was shot dead in 1992, and the Queensbridge Crew, a reference to the Queensbridge housing projects in Queens, NY, USA. He also reveals he's a fan of Marcus Garvey, the Jackson 5 and Mr. Magic.[5]
During the events of the game, the jungle and various fruit kingdoms are overrun by the various minions of the Ghastly King. The bananas from the jungle are also all stolen, scattered throughout the various kingdoms. Donkey Kong decides to help by facing and defeating the kings of each kingdom to both liberate the kingdoms and reclaim the bananas.
During his journeys, in which he defeats the kings in each kingdom, Ghastly King claims to rule the world. However, his plans are thwarted when Donkey Kong arrives and beats Ghastly King. The Helper Monkeys and Ninjapes, as well as the four Kongs under Ghastly King, then celebrate the defeat of the duo, with Donkey Kong being named the new king.
Rather than use beats as health throughout the kingdom, beats only serve as health in boss battles. In standard levels, the player is given three hearts as health, as well as a life counter, which can be increased by collecting 1-Up Coins. These can be found through various circumstances and by collecting specific numbers of beats (200, 500, 1000, 1500, etc.). If the player loses all of their hearts, they lose a life rather than automatically getting a game over; because of this, checkpoints have been implemented into the levels.
The crest system has also been revised; there are no longer different crests, but a number of crests the player can still obtain by earning a certain number of bananas.[1] The player can earn up to three crests from each kingdom; 200 beats earns the player one crest, 500 two, and 1000 and above three. Collecting all of the crests in one barrel results in the player unlocking the fourth kingdom in that barrel. The other Kingdoms are unlocked after the previous one has been completed, as opposed to gathering a certain number of crests.
Take control of DK with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk as you swing, swim, and battle against the fiercest jungle beasts to prove your worth. Earn combo multipliers by collecting bananas as you explore volcano caves, snowy peaks, and fantastic skyscapes. Friendly animal pals can offer hints or a ride across the jungle!
You speed your four-wheel frog rapidly across jungle floors and up dirt ramps. Occasionally, you have to pull off stunts while driving, such as throwing a dart from your car at a dartboard on the side of the road. That kind of makes me a little sick. So idiotic.
You portray Carl, the old guy with the house, as well as the boy, Russell, and the talking dog, Dug, plus the prehistoric bird, Kevin. You travel to the jungles of South America, deal with nefarious people along the way, and check out the Amazon.
Did you hear about the farm that produced camel milk? They shut downbecause of the chaos caused by camels running away and attacking peoplewho tried to milk them, combined with legal disputes and a nasty divorceamong the owners.
In a forgotten part of a forgotten ocean lies an island which is bestknown for its hospital and rehabilitation facility for raptors. Also ofnote in the area is the rare species of dolphins that live forever. Theeagles at the facility are excellent craftsbirds, producing variousitems that are highly prized by the dolphins. An enterprising Colobusmonkey on the island has started a business delivering the items. Oneday she runs across a sleeping lion on jungle path. She gingerly stepsover the lion to continue her delivery. Immediately a highway patrolmansteps out of the jungle and gives her a ticket for transporting illeagle goods over a staid lion for immortal porpoises. - Blame RichMorrow
