Does that mean that my .Net framework apps can be recompiled in .Net 6, as long as I specify the net-windows target and the csproject upgrade and compilation is successful, the program will just work? I just intend them to run on Windows, now and always.
My apps also consume a lot of .Net framework 2.0/3.5/4.6 dlls ( mostly they are involved with OpenGL and other graphic things), which I can only assume to have no general port to .Net 5 or .Net 6, and which the source code is no longer available even to me ( they are from close-source third party providers).
As for net5.0-windows, it's basically a fudge. While the goal of everything .NET 5.0 onwards was unification and cross-platform everything, they couldn't get all the work done in time. I read a blob post about it, which I can't find right now, but basically WinForms in particular is very closely tied to some underlying Windows only APIs. Maybe .NET 7.0?
I am trying to format an external hard disk to FAT32 (I need it to work with some hardware that expects it to be in FAT32). When I am trying to format it via Windows the only option get is to format it to NTFS.
When I am in a Space and do Exposé to "Show me ALL Application Windows", Exposé shows me ALL the windows opened for that App across ALL Spaces (and not just from the current Space)
However, the behavior in the next scenario is perfect:When I am in a Space and do Exposé to "Show me ALL Windows for ALL running applications", Exposé dutifully shows me only the relevant windows for "ALL" running applications in the "Current" space only. - GREAT!
Steam Deck boots into windows 10 only. the Steam OS boot option is there in boot loader, but when selected it only boots to Windows 10. I found the boot file in the file manager, but when I selected it, it boots into Windows 10.
I'm using Clover as the boot manager. and when I first installed it, it worked fine. but now it wont even boot into Clover, only into Windows 10. I can go in to the boot menu and boot into Clover manually but the only option that works is Windows 10.
I am using Ubuntu 18.04 (with Linux kernel 4.15.0-33-generic) on a setup with laptop and an external monitor. Is there a way to make the dock in Ubuntu 18.04 only display the windows from the current screen. There was a similar feature in Ubuntu 16.04.
In short if an app is only opened on one of the screens it was still displayed in the launcher but with a different indicator. When there are two windows of an app (e.g. I have two gedits or two chromes opened) one for each screen, clicking on the icon in the dock opened the window for the corresponding screen (instead of displaying a picker with the two windows).
I have an 8Tb drive where I store my dropbox files on my Windows computer and despite setting all files to be 'online only' as well as going to Dropbox preferences and setting select sync to not sync any folders I am still getting the message "Can't sync not enough free space". In my system settings it appears the files are still taking up space on my "Apple" drive where I have drobox downloaded and have set it to sync to (I have less than 200GB of non-dropbox data on that Apple drive).
I believe I have been using Smart Sync (where I would select which folders were local or online only). I selected all of the folders and set them to online only. Then after that wasn't clearing up space, I went to Selective Sync in my settings and unchecked all the folders there.
It might do. Best practice is to always make sure you have only front faces exposed on 3D shapes. I would suggest delaying the addition of materials until late in the modeling process and only do it after you know that all geometry is correct.
But at this point I am stuck. I do not see how to install the grub menu permanently again. Commands like update-grub or grub2-mkconfig (run from the live stick) require not to be run from the live stick. I tried chroot, but was not successful. All manuals that I found assume that one Linux OS is still installed, which seems to be the "basis" of chroot. I want to get a running Windows-only configuration. Right now it would be ok if it is with a Grub bootloader. It would be better to use the Windows bootloader, but I seem not to be able to start the recovery mode despite hitting F8 on Windows boot and also have no Windows recovery media.
So does someone have a clue on how to permanently add the windows boot entry to Grub in this scenario? A quick workaround which does not require me to type the five commands on every boot would also be fine. Thanks :-)
I'm running Windows Server 2008 R2 in a workgroup, not a domain, and I want to create a local account that is only used for allowing other computers in the same workgroup to access file shares on that server.
Windows 11 in S mode is only available in the Windows 11 Home edition. If you have the Pro, Enterprise, or Education editions of Windows 10 in S mode, Windows Update will not offer Windows 11 because S mode is not available in those editions of Windows 11. Therefore, if you have the Pro, Enterprise or Education editions of Windows 10 in S mode, you'll need to switch out of S mode to upgrade to Windows 11.
these are obviously for tabs, if you really meant windows, you can use virtual desktops and put multiple each windows on each one, then use CTRL + WIN key + Right/Left arrows to switch between each virtual desktop.
When Protected View is enabled, only basic navigation is allowed. For example, you can open PDFs, scroll through pages, and click links. You can enable Protected View in a PDF that you view in either stand-alone Acrobat or in a web browser.
I have one user who periodically can only see one folder in one folder on one network share. There are probably hundreds of folders there, but she can only see one. She has no trouble accessing that one.
NOTE: If the following does not resolve the issue, or if you receive an error message referencing S Mode or This mode of Windows only runs verified apps from the Store, see the FAQ Windows 10 S Mode and Garmin Applications.

Window glass replacement involves removing the broken or cracked window pane from your window frame. It is typically an option when you are dealing with a new, otherwise undamaged frame but have run into problems like cracks and breaks in the panes of glass. We will get more specific on whether it makes sense to replace just one broken pane of glass or new windows later. But what you should know now is that replacing one pane of glass is cheaper than getting new windows.
If your windows are old, in poor working condition, broken, or have single-pane glass, you should consider replacing the entire window. This is an excellent option because it will increase energy efficiency and reduce noise by eliminating cracks that may let air into your home while maintaining the historical integrity of older homes with original materials.
Replacing a window is not just about replacing the glass. It requires removing the whole existing frame and rebuilding it in order to install a new one, which will cost more than only fixing broken windows. However, there are many reasons why replacement is worth your money when compared with simply repairing them:
Many people decide to upgrade their existing windows because they are no longer operable, energy-efficient, or aesthetically pleasing. However, many more opt for replacement due to a desire for change and a new look at home with double-pane fiberglass insulated wood-clad windows and maintenance-free vinyl windows.
Replacement windows cost homeowners up to 50% more than simply replacing the glass. On average, replacement windows can cost $175-$700 per window, with high-end replacements reaching as much as $800-1,200.
Online-only files take up a small amount of space on your hard drive as the placeholder requires space to store the file name and the shortcut to dropbox.com. Still, this takes up much less space than the file itself would.
The standalone FortiPAM agent can be installed on devices requiring only ZTNA tunnel access to the PAM server and/or for real-time video recording (without the need to FortiClient EMS). The standard FortiClient agent contains the PAM agent and is required for full ZTNA protection including EMS ZTNA tag-based access control to the PAM server and PAM secrets
Hi, when I turn on HDR setting on Windows, it shows I'm in 10 bit color depth. When I turn back on to the SDR mode then I'm back to 8 bit color depth. Gigabyte told me only Intel side can fix this issue. Can you tell me what's going on? Obviously people don't want to spend all their time in HDR since most of the applications and programs run SDR colors, but people want to have 10 bit color depth all the time in SDR. I just downloaded all the newest drivers with Intel DSA and checked Intel Graphics Command Center and there was no option to switch Color Depth. Will it ever be fixed or when will it be fixed? I've added my DxDiag. Thanks
It is worth mentioning that the eDP connector is commonly used for laptops or other connectors for the built-in display, the option is not currently available in IGCC for built-in or this type of connection but by activating HDR via the Windows* settings you can do it as you mentioned before. This feedback has been already submitted for consideration however there are no ETAs or promise fixes for this feature.
