Ive downloaded the latest version of NetExtender (App Ver: 10.2.322/Svc Ver: 10.2.300), but it won't install or run unless I disable the Core Isolation/Memory Integrity functionality in Windows 11. Now that we're 4 months since release, how long until we have a compatible version of NetExtender so we can enable this security feature again?

We are having the exact same issue. I am running the current version of NetExtender, but only with Core Isolation/Memory Integrity turned off in Windows Security. It states the drivers for NetExtender are Incompatible. The driver and version are:

The problem continues. Why isn't it resolved? Isn't there a team to resolve and update the driver to a compatible version? A product that is supposed to be safe forces us to disable a windows security feature. It should be evaluated more carefully.

We are facing an issue while installing the netextender client after updating windows 10 to version 2004. We are getting the below error message while the installation. I have referred to all the steps given in below in the below article.

So what firewall hardware and firmware version are you using? Did you try an updated version of NetExtender? I recommend 8.6.266 or greater. The version mentioned in the article (8.6.265 ) was problematic as well.

I was hoping to find this issue resolved since it's been known for nearly a year now, but disheartened that Sonicwall, a security company, has not fixed their software and instead recommends turning off an OS kernel-level security feature. That's... unfortunate.

Has anyone used Netextender with the latest Windows 10 update to version 2004? I have a normal Dell laptop that was working with NetExtender-9.0.0.274.msi. After the Windows update it will connect but no data passes over the VPN. The client gets an IP, so everything looks good from that standpoint. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Netextender with the same result.

As per your description, looks like possible mess up with Nx adapter on the client machine. In addition to the suggestions given previously, please try using SonicWall Mobile Connect as a platform for VPN. This can indeed help you figure out the adapter issues because using SonicWall Mobile Connect, the VPN traffic takes a different adapter path.

Saravanan, I installed the Mobile Connect from the Windows Store. It connects and gets an IP from the SSLVPN IP Pool. After that I get the same issue - no ping or shared folder access. the Received bytes in the monitor stays very low. As a matter of interest, I tryie this on a version 1904 Win 10 and it does the same thing, so I'm suspecting something in the destination Sonicwall (TZ600). However I do have other working clients at present.

Thank you Shiprasahu93, The SSLVPN Pool does overlap with the LAN address. LAN address is 10.17.11.0/24 and SSLVPN Pool is the range 10.17.11.70-79. I can't change it right now because there are connected clients working just fine. The range does not overlap with the normal DHCP range which is 10.17.11.100-199.

It looks like the address overlap was the issue. After setting the SSLVPN Address Pool to a completely different range not on any connected network, it seems to work both with the Netextender and Mobile. It did require an update to the latest OS of the Sonicwall and and reboot.

Where within the mobile app is one able to set the domain? Only gives hostname but no other options. My SonicWALL netextender had been working for months, and now I get the same error as shown in the original message. Customer to whom we connect does not permit another VPN client but willing to give this mobile app a try.

windows 10 ran into the same issue and found that the latest maintenance release 8.6.265 fixes the signed driver issue. With that being said, as soon as you install the application reboot the machine. After that it will allow you to use the software without the error. Download site for latest release is located at:

At work we have to use Sonicwall Netextender to connect over VPN. The NetExtender client works fine on Windows x64 for me, but when using the same settings in my Ubuntu , the connection seems to work fine at first - But after just some packages have been sent, it slows down to almost 0 or 0 ( the connection is still up and seems fine)

Also tried with latest NetExtenderPackage "NetExtender.Linux.7.0.741.x86_64" and it's the same symptoms - i can connect successfully, fetch about one webpage, and then everything just seem to stall. I also upgraded to Ubuntu 13.04.

Not sure if you got a solution to this or not, but Dell Sonicwall just released a firmware update to the NSA series that somewhat addresses this type of issue. I was having similar "trailing off" issues with my windows client. The Global VPN client would work fine, but the Netexender would slow to a crawl after a couple minutes. This firmware update has increased the throughput by a factor of at least eight and the speed stays constant!

The San Jose-based company said the attacks leveraged zero-day vulnerabilities in SonicWall secure remote access products such as NetExtender VPN client version 10.x and Secure Mobile Access (SMA) that are used to provide users with remote access to internal resources.

"Recently, SonicWall identified a coordinated attack on its internal systems by highly sophisticated threat actors exploiting probable zero-day vulnerabilities on certain SonicWall secure remote access products," the company exclusively told The Hacker News.

The development comes after The Hacker News received reports that SonicWall's internal systems went down earlier this week on Tuesday and that the source code hosted on the company's GitLab repository was accessed by the attackers.

It has also published an advisory urging organizations to enable multi-factor authentication, disable NetExtender access to the firewall, restrict access to users and admins for public IP addresses, and configure whitelist access on the SMA directly to mitigate the flaws.

With a number of cybersecurity vendors such as FireEye, Microsoft, Crowdstrike, and Malwarebytes becoming targets of cyberattacks in the wake of SolarWinds supply chain hack, the latest breach of SonicWall raises significant concerns.

"As the front line of cyber defense, we have seen a dramatic surge in cyberattacks on governments and businesses, specifically on firms that provide critical infrastructure and security controls to those organizations," SonicWall said.

SonicWall, in an updated advisory on Saturday, said its NetExtender VPN clients are no longer affected by the potential zero-day vulnerabilities that it said were used to carry out a "coordinated attack" on its internal systems.

"While we previously communicated NetExtender 10.x as potentially having a zero-day, that has now been ruled out," the company stated. "It may be used with all SonicWall products. No action is required from customers or partners."
