MK has been making comics under the pseudonym Comic Nurse since 2000. In addition to lecturing, teaching and comic-making, she co-runs GraphicMedicine.org, a website devoted to the intersection of comics and health.

Do you mean yonkoma exactly? Because usually people still use a bit more or less or you can argue Sarah's scribbles is a yonkoma too. But I guess War and Peas, Safely Endangered, Mondo Mango will be good examples. I myself make a comic in 6 panels

There may be more but it definitely feels like something that was more common in the days where slice of life was the dominating genre on Tapas(tic). Pretty sure that even folks like Shen started out with a sort or 4panel style (namely with Shen Comix than Blue Chair) but as the genre in specific grew folks branched out more to, i guess, stand out or just coz 4 panels can feel kinda limiting

I created my newest series specifically in a 4 panel format to relieve my workload and burnout. It's kind of a fun challenge to write within 4 panels.

WIDGETS: One of the coolest things about COMICPRESS / WORDPRESS are the WIDGET options. You can put cool plugins like the image navigation bar under your comic, over the comic and in all sorts of different locations. This is how you add advertising to your headers, sidebars, twitter feed codes, whatever you want. Just click APPEARANCE then WIDGETS to see the different location options you have with this theme. You can look at other sites to get an idea of what they are putting in their sidebars.

How does power work in the eeveebox? Are there ulterior motives to how leaders are chosen? Are deputies appointed by the leader or determined by age? Are eevee reps. appointed by the leader/deputy or voted on by the eevees? Do the eevee reps. have any power? If yes, then is power determined by a hierarchy of command? How much power does a leader and deputy have over their own house? How much power do they have in other houses, both how much they say they have, and how much they actually have?

Every Sunday there is a 2 hour brotherhood meeting, as shown in this comic page

This page actually shows a typical meeting. Meetings are around 2 hours where all the brotherhood officials come together to talk about issues together. Usually this is the only time where brotherhood issues are brought up.

Leaders- Its Mandatory for leaders to go to meetings

Dusk: Almost always at meetings, Will sleep during meetings, and is only actively involved if Blizz is in the meeting or something important is going on
Bolt: Always at meetings, Due to his anxiety, he tends to let Dean do all the talking. Will only kind of talk if more eeveelutions are at the meeting.
Vay: Literally never goes to meetings, has a cardboard cutout that stands in for him. Will only go if Blizz goes due to him being scared of Blizz finding out he never goes to meetings.

Deputies- It is optional for them to go to meetings

????: Due to staying hidden, and his work load, he never goes to meetings, or even knows they are a thing.
Flame: Almost Never goes to meetings. Like, he went to less than 5 meetings out of over 200
Blizz: Has not went to a meeting for a few months due to personal issues with the other leaders. Believes that Vay is going to meetings and doing leader work.

Representatives- It is mandatory that they go to meetings

John: Always goes to meetings, usually tries to talk at least, but usually doesnt unless prompted.
Dean: Always at meetings, Usually is the one leading meetings, talks a lot during them.
Eve: Always at meetings, and usually is the only Icedrop there. Does what she can, but is usually outnumbered. Wishes that Blizz can come back to the leadership position.

Power

Author chan: People have been so nice during all of my hiatuses due to school being literally horrible. It makes me super happy! I saw that quite a few people were politely asking for comics staring Sora or Miku. (Unlike the people who were harassing me for Eevee Academy comics and making me CANCAL it cause they were so RUDE. Yes, I know how to spell Cancelled. )
-where was I?

WEBTOON is the go-to site to easily read comics in many forms, with manga being particularly popular. From slice-of-life like My Giant Nerd Boyfriend to myth retellings like Lore Olympus, readers are spoiled for choice. You can read online or via the app.

Once you have 100 subscribers for one of your titles you can monetize the ads on your page, and after 250 subscribers you can use their in-built creator support tool, where readers can tip you. The platform occasionally partners with traditional publishers to turn popular comics into printed books.

Tumblr is still an excellent place to share your creative work if you draw comics. Many of the most popular webcomics on the internet have an account here due to the support and acceptance they give to the genre.

Spinwhiz Comics is a discovery and distribution platform which was specifically designed to allow content creators to share their content, build their brands and start to gain revenue through multiple avenues. It was also created to give readers a daily stream of new comics and webcomics they may not have noticed otherwise with all of the competitive noise in the marketplace.

Webtoon is a digital comic platform where users can read and publish comics, predominantly in a vertical scroll format optimized for mobile devices. It hosts a wide range of genres, including romance, comedy, fantasy, action, and more. Webtoon features works from various artists and creators from around the world, offering a diverse selection of content to its users. It has gained significant popularity, particularly among younger audiences, and has become a prominent platform for both established and aspiring comic creators.

Webtoon's phone app is the best well-designed comic app I've ever encountered. Its user experience, color palette, and layout are top-notch. Sometimes I find webtoons advanced chapters elsewhere, but I wait for them to appear in Webtoon, just for the pleasure of reading them on that platform. Highly recommended! One comic I'm into now is "Stray Souls" :)

This is my current longer webcomic. The goal is to draw an average of 2 pages per week, and finished pages will be posted in batches every few weeks, as best fits the flow of the story. The story has Christian subject matters as its foundation, and you can read more info about the comic in the "about" section on its website. Suited for teens and up.

I like to self publish my comics as physical books whenever I can, and currently you can get both "A Meandering Line" and "lovely People" as little hardcovers from my online shop! (They're shipped from Finland)

Note for people from the USA/North America: A small Christian online book shop called Wise Path Books (link to shop) also carries my books, so you can get also them from there with way cheaper shipping.

My personal coming-to-faith story, told in comic form. Half of the story focuses on the years when I was an atheist, how I ended up with the conclusions I did, and the other half goes through how God ended up leading me back the other way.

I made the short comic "Lovely People" during 2020-2021 when I felt an internal alarm about the societal creeping towards possible social credit systems in the future, and I felt like I needed to throw my skills into the mix to help people understand how such systems can function. (This was the comic I made right after my conversion.)

If you'd like the physical copy you can currently buy one from this small Christian online bookstore called Wise Path Books. (My own little webshop is on a break until I have some spare time.)

I can't whole-heartedly recommend the comics I finished during my pre-Christian era, since eventhough I tried to make them as "just entertainment" and for mass appeal, our worldviews always colorour creations. But the comics exist, and as long as they're read through a lens of being aware that these were written by a 20-something woman with a somewhat progressivist worldview at the time, then they can be decent as entertainment. So if you do want to read them they are:

"A Redtail's dream" My first finished comic, made when I was in university (finished 2013). It's a fairytale-ish adventure set in a dream world inspired by Finnish mythology. I'm still pretty fond of this one.

"Stand Still. Stay Silent" Begun in 2013 and ran for nearly a decade. It's a post-apocalyptic horror-adventure story, set in the Nordics and with a fantasy flare inspired by Nordic mythologies (Norse and Finnish). NOT suitable for children (and not sensitive adults either), has lots of prominent horror elements.

Hi. This is a list I made when it occurred to me that it's not that healthy to be a female character in comics. I'm curious to find out if this list seems somewhat disproportionate, and if so, what it means, really. These are superheroines who have been either depowered, raped, or cut up and stuck in the refrigerator. I know I missed a bunch. Some have been revived, even improved -- although the question remains as to why they were thrown in the wood chipper in the first place. I know I missed a bunch -- I just don't know my comics deaths the way I should. I'm not editorializing -- I'm just curious to find out what you guys think it means, if anything.

The preceding letter was written and sent by me when I realized one day that most of my favorite female comics characters had met untimely and often icky ends. The history of the idea and this site are listed here, and the responses from various comics professionals are listed here. An important point: This isn't about assessing blame about an individual story or the treatment of an individual character and it's certainly not about personal attacks on the creators who kindly shared their thoughts on this phenomenon. It's about the trend, its meaning and relevance, if any. Plus, it's just fun to talk about refrigerators with dead people in them. I don't know why. We'd love to hear what you think on this subject, or women in comics in general. Thanks for visiting!
