My question is: is there a way to disable this behaviour? At first glance this automatic saving seems rather dangerous because you need to know which objects are connected to the session and which not and it seems pretty easy to save something by mistake. Can you tell me what the benefits of this automatic-saving approach are? I hardly see any.I'd like to always explicitly call dao.save(object) to update anything.

I heard of one possible workaround to this, which is using an entityInterceptor on your sessionFactory. This custom entityInterceptor would override the findDirty method to never find anything dirty, but in such case I suppose dao.save won't also work. Any ideas?

I agree, you should not flush manually. My experience of webapp developer said that FlushMode should be set to "AUTO".But sometimes I need to disable dirty check (for validation of data, validating data in database and data return by forms or services). For that I create a special class and disabled dirty check by changing the FLUSHMODE:

I would like Eclipse to automatically save every time I edit a file, in much the same way that it builds automatically. Because I've been using IntelliJ for the last year (which saves automatically by default), I keep having the following problem:

Auto-save of dirty editors is now available in Eclipse. The autosave option is disabled by default. A new autosave preference page (Preferences > General > Editors > Autosave) is available and allows to enable/disable the autosave and change the interval of autosave. The countdown is reset on keyboard activity, mouse click, or when a popup is displayed (e.g. content assist, preference page, ...).

The options menu lets you change your settings for the game. See Controls for control defaults. The option to clear save data is also in the Options menu, this resets all of your progresss so be careful.

Dirt Details: Tells the names of up to 3 types of Dirt present on the place the crosshair is pointing towards if any dirt is present. These details are visible in the top left corner when looking at dirt.
Crosshair Dirt Details: Unlike the normal Dirt Details, this tells the name of the top (easiest) layer of Dirt on the place the crosshair is pointing towards if any dirt is present. These details are visible to the right of the crosshair when looking at dirt.

CYCLE - Cycles through stance modes in order (standing, crouching, prone, back to standing) when pressing the stance mode button (Default: LEFT CONTROL).
HOLD - Changes stance from standing to crouching when pressing the stance mode button (Default: LEFT CONTROL) or from standing to prone when holding the stance mode button down. The button does not need to keep being held down to stay in the prone position. Press the stance mode button shortly when not standing to revert back to standing position.

Auto Save: When ticked off, saves immediately when any dirt gets cleaned. When not ticked off, the game only saves when switching levels or when closing the game. Turning this off can improve performance but won't prevent progress loss if a crash occurs.
Save Data: Pressing the CLEAR button resets all progress including Free Play and Challenge Mode progress. Use this if you want to start the game over from the very beginning.

Washing Mode: This setting should be automatically changed based upon your PC but if you are unable to clean anything please select LEGACY.
STANDARD - Standard washing mode, does not differ significantly from LEGACY mode.
LEGACY - Allows players with older hardware/drivers to clean.
Wetness VFX: Shows a temporary trail of wetness caused by the water after cleaning something.

I have the JS below which i've enabled on fields of a form to autosave when the field is dirty (unsaved changes). Can someone please help me add a condition to indicate "if field value = WTVR or != WTVR". If you could give me the complete JS as a whole, i would appreciate it. What i would like to accomplish is to AutoSave only if the field contains, or does not contain, a specific value, or null. Lets assume the field i'd like to check is called "Holding" and the filed value is "Walked". If Holding Value = Walked then dont AutoSave.

Also, I have a business rule to show an error msg on a field based on a condition. When i try to use this AutoSave on that form it doesn't work, ever after the error condition is cleared. It sounds like the JS is running prior to the error being cleared? What i see happening is that when i clear the error msg condition (condition in the business rule), i see the error msg next to the Save icon which is of course the AutoSave trying to save, but at this time, i can of course Save the form manually because the error msg is gone.

Thanks so much for the response, and sorry about the delayed response. I tried what you suggested, but its not working for me. Its basically not doing anything. Just to point out - and i think i missed this point previously - when the form loads, the OptionSet field in question is empty. It just want that when the user selects a value in the OptionSet, the form should AutoSave, except if the selection is a specific OptionSet value. In my case, the option set value is "191,170,000". So the form loads, the OptionSet field is blank. The user then selects a OptionSet value while in the form, then AutoSave the form. The user selects an OptionValue which is matching "191,170,000", dont AutoSave the form

In the javascript web resource you can declare a global variable which will holds the current value and then inside the method every time you will retrieve the value and check. If changes then save the form.

You can try with below code, register below function in on-load event of the form, It will check every 2 seconds and if its found dirty then save the forms. However you can reduce and increase the time as per your choice in milliseconds.

This is the other way around. It enables AutoSave globally, and and then i can disable on individual forms (hours of work). This wouldn't make any sense when i wish to enable AutoSave ONLY on one form and on one field.

Thanks for the response. It doesn't work for me, but i've also failed to mention that the field is an OptionSet field. I tried the JS below (AutoSave IF the Holding OptionSet field does not = Walked), it works, but it doesnt read the IF condition.

I have just recently bought F1 22. The issue is very simple, whenever I enter the game a message pops up "failed to load, retry or continue without saving". After I tried to turn on autosave feature the same phrase gets shown. Every time I start the game I need to go through the conditions and gamma correction etc. again. I tried to uninstall the game and it did not help.

Hi Atic, I apologize for a second response, however, this issue is quite critical and absolutely denies any further and deeper gameplay of your product plus there are other people suffering with the same problem. Is there anything we can do? At least any feedback is much appreciated.

I had to turn off the autosave to be able to play, but everytime I have to change all setting and command as I like.
I noticed that the saving file are stored in the folde "My games" of steam, but I bought the game for Origin. I tried to move the folder in the "EA games" folder but it doesn't read it.
I tried to reinstall the game, rename folders, and even blocking all firewalls and antivirus but the problem persist.

Is there a way to disable the auto-saving feature for the lines of the Sales Order Entry?
We have 4-5 custom fields on every line and if an order has lots of line, every time that the system do the auto-save we lose about 10 seconds.
Is there a way to turn off this feature?
We would like to save manually after modified every line of the Sales Order.

The Server code also expects to receive only a single dirty row - UpdateExt is an exception but under the covers, UpdateExt only processes one row at a time. Sending multiple dirty rows to Update may work on some business objects but it will not work on all.

Depending on what you are trying to do (especially if you want to update UD fields on Multiple rows), you may be better off creating an Updateable Dashboard for the Fields you want to update and using the Multi-Dirty row option on that. UBAQ Dashboards work via UpdateExt so could possibly be quicker.

If it takes 10 seconds between each save of a few line order, I would offer that you have a poor performing Customization, BPM, Network, Client, or Server. The first 2 would be the best places to look though.

Yes, that would be great to have. But it can not be an actual auto-save. The problem is when an active workflow gets changed. If somebody would work on it, it means that all changes are directly live and would so very likely break current executions. So it should probably best save it only in the local storage of the browser. There it can save as much as it wants without breaking anything. And if the user leaves and comes back it could check if one is saved in the local storage. If one is available it could simply ask the user if he wants to load the one from the server or the one from local storage.

It would for sure be nicer and very helpful if multiple people could work on the same workflow at the same time and it would update it live. Would have been handy on multiple occasions for me already. But for sure would be much more complicated than implementing a simple locking. But even with a locking, there would need to be something in place to be able to overwrite it. Because how do we know that somebody is working on it? If somebody did open it and has an active connection for example. But what if he has internet connection issues or stops working and his computer goes in sleep mode? Would it then be blocked indefinitely or unblock after X minutes? With live-updating it would be similar but even more complicated if they get out of sync.
