I've recently encountered a problem with the WiFi connection on my LX9000 (or possibly my phone).

When I try to connect and go to the "network" screen to check status it continuously gets hung up on "authenticating" or "checking IP address" and will not connect. Signal strength is strong, and I've tried re-entering the password and recycling the personal hotspot. I'm using a IPhone 5.
It used to work fine - and every once in awhile still does. Any solutions?
Thanks
ROY

Roy, I use an iphone 11, and I have never had an issue. Can you ask someone else at the club to let you connect to their hotspot? I would suggest resetting the hotspot password on your iphone and in the LX9000. I did have problems with older iphones connecting my laptop to the hotspot. So test it with someone's newer phone and then maybe it is time to boost the apple stock price.

Try rebooting your iPhone. That can fix rare goofy issues on my iPhone 6. Also, try a "real" WiFi network (like at home) instead of your iPhone hotspot.

May be unrelated, but changing my LXNAV WiFi setting to “ground only” solved a variety of connection problems for me. I have an iPhone 8 and, as far as I’m concerned, Apple stock is high enough.

Roy - I had the same problem for awhile.  Rebooting the iPhone did not help.  Eventually, I changed the password on the hotspot, and did the same on the LX, and it connected.  Also, it seems to not like connecting as easily unless you have the hotspot screen open on the phone.  Good luck!

Hi Roy, I find that for some unknown reason my 9070 will usually connect immediately to my Android phone if I power up the 9070 when my phone hotspot is already up and running.   Sometimes if the 9070 is already running when I switch on the phone hotspot then LX Connect tends to hang at the authenticating IP stage.  When that happens I reboot the 9070 and so far (tempting fate here) it has always then connected.

Marc:
Where in the LX "menu maze" is that setting?

Roy,

There should be an option to "forget" a network on the 9000 and then you can re-enter the network credentials on the 9000 again and I think that should solve the problem.

The Ground only option should be found under Network and in the Wifi State field you can edit that to ON, OFF, Ground Only.

With iPhone with share connection off shut off wifi and bluetooth
Set share connection on and choose wifi and bluetooth
It’s solve all the connection problems with iPhone
This solution comes from Apple

I found the problem with iPhone 12.  They have new Wi-Fi 5 GHz. So to stay only with 2,4 GHz, you need in setting_share connection to select “maximize connection”
It’s work perfectly like that!
