LX9000 File corruption

Yesterday I turned on my LX9070 and got the message "File system corrupted. Entering Safe Mode with limited navigational functions and no flight logging." Limited meant none whatsoever. I tried shutting down and restarting w/o success. I emailed LXNAV and got the response"

Please try to power on unit without inserted SD card.

I have not been back to the airport to try this yet. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I've gotten odd LX9000 results with an SD card that had imperceptibly corroded contacts, but if memory serves, not exactly your symptom.  It was long enough ago I don't remember precisely what the errors were.  Got it to resolve by cleaning the contacts, got it to go away for good by discarding the card.

I tried starting it up with two separate SD cards and got the same result, so I think my problem is different. I did not try powering it up w/o the SD card as the recommended, however.

Hi guys,

our LX9050 is booting to "safe mode" too. 

Any idea how to resolve this, other then sending the unit in for repair?

I had this problem, advised to try it without the SD card at start-up. Did as advised, problem sorted.

In any case you can send a "Debug-report" to LX. The manual asks for this in case of trouble.
