All,
Is it possible to create profiles with observation zones as the delimiter say: FAI, TAT, AAT?  If you have done so successfully, looking forward to your reply.

Hi Leon,

Give me a call.  I personally don't like using multiple profiles in my LX9000 or S100, or Oudie, etc.  Any changes made in one profile must be also made in other profiles - for example, changing which navboxes are displayed on the Waypoints screens.  Having multiple profiles leads to frustration - "I swear I just changed that parameter yesterday...".  I just one one profile and change the airport file manually when I travel to other soaring sites.  The same is true for the observation zones.  Have different profiles for badge flights vs. contest flights would make it easier to setup tasks, but settings tweaks done at a contest would need to be manually transferred into the badge flights profile.  I suppose it is more of a personal preferences thing, but I've talked to many frustrated customers over the years - frustrated because they're using multiple profiles and not understanding how that works.

We have an S100 /S100D in our Duo, with multiple profiles.
Perhaps all we ended up doing is switching names in the logger *, but so far soo good.
* because other things, like navboxes in cruise, aren't easy to do.

Hi Jim,

Good point.  Each of the 3 co-owners of our DG-1000S uses a their own profile.

Paul, I agree with you on multiple profiles for yourself being a bit of a hassle.  I have access to a few different gliders with LX90X0 in them.  I have my own profile that I use, but I find that I'll update the 9000 profile in the Discus and make a small change for a data box or changing a weather overlay opacity.  Then I forget to port that over to my 9070 profile in the Duo and I am missing that configuration the next time I fly the Duo. One of those "Damn, I thought I fixed this..." moments.  These are big time first world problems, but managing the UI aspect of multiple profiles is a bit of a nuisance, especially across aircraft.  If it was just task rules for a single glider I'd just focus on getting comfortable with changing those rules.

Multiple profiles for multiple pilots is unavoidable since you want the W&B changes, the logger updates and things like LX Connect to be properly configured.
