I haven't had a chance to perform a manual update, but my upgrade from 9.34 to 9.51 seemed to work just fine.

Sunday, I knew that 9.52 was released and so I allowed the system to upgrade.  After the V8 upgrade finished, the 9070 did it's standard versioning check and the V8 is stuck at 9.34.  So it appears that it never actually upgraded to 9.51 or 9.52.  Ran the upgrade again, it seemed to be successful, but again comes back up and 9.52.

It was late and dusty and windy so I gave up and figured I would deal with it later under better conditions.

I've pulled down the firmware independently from the wifi upgrade process and will give a manual upgrade a try.  I haven't had this issue before

Hi Morgan,

It is my understanding that the V8 sensor box can only be updated through the LX90x0.  The display can be updated using the LX90x0 using the usual microSD card dance, or using the V8 update file that you can download from the LXNAV website and save to the V8's microSD card.

Also, when done updating, reboot the system.  The vario won't correctly display the firmware versions until after the reboot.

Best Regards,

I updated to v 9.52 yesterday. The LX9000  and sensor box went smoothly. However, my V8 did not. After rebooting, the V8 briefly shows the new version and that seemed to be successful. The problem is that the information lines on the V8 appear normally for about 30 seconds after reboot and then about the time I get a GPS lock (~30 seconds), all my data lines on the V8 disappear. What is left are a line tiny icons that indicate what that information "pages" are available on the device. I flew and the vario needle and audio seemed to work.
I've always had issues updating the V8 firmware. I follow the instructions precisely on the device and it screws up every time. It always takes at least 2 tries to properly update. I'll reload the firmware tomorrow and hope that corrects the problem. I wish LXNAV would fix the "clunky" way the V8 was updated.

My update last week turned out like Craig’s.  I flew 5 days in a row and each time the V8 seemed to load properly at first, but then the 4 data boxes disappeared, replaced by the small icons.
