LX Sxxx NMEA specification?

I stumbled across an XCSoar input file that appears to map a few buttons to some limited control of a connected Sxxx using XCSoar to forward NMEA commands to the LX.
eg using $PLXVS to change mode from Vario to STF, and $PLXV0 to change the volume.
XCSoar source code refers to a "V7 dataport specification" but the file has disappeared from the current XCSoar repository and I can't find it anywhere else.
Does anyone have any documentation or information about what is controllable via NMEA on the S100/S80 etc?
