LX9070 updates do fail to download

I have a LX9070 Gen 3 with version 8.01.  It refuses to update the 9070 software and refuses to update maps.  I connect with the wireless device in it through my iPhone 12's personal hotspot.  I go into About and tell it to update, it asks if I want databases or 9070 or both, I've tried both of them, no work.  I have a good 5G connection (that interferes  with nothing at this little airport).  I remember the days that it simply would connect and tell me if updates are available, that no longer happens.

I just visited the LXNav website, downloaded the update there and will try it when I get the upload file loaded on the SD card once I find an adapter to do that.

Did you try upgrading to 9? 8.01 is ancient. You missing many improvements and fixes.

Hi Ramy,  It should have upgraded via my phone and network device.  My friend Marc just told me that he had the same problem and had to delete the network connection in the LX, then re-establish it and his worked.  Although I have downloaded the latest, I will try the network thing in a few days when the hangar temperature gets above freezing :).

I recall couple of issues with the Wi-Fi settings, although not sure it is related to your issue.
1- ensure you don’t have special characters in your hot spot (phone) name, like ‘. Not sure if this was fixed already.
2- issue with recent iOS compatibility. Check that your iPhone hot spot setting has the “maximize comparability” on.

I tried deleting my network setting in the LX, then putting it back in, no help.  Today I used the downloaded V9 and all is well.  Now I need to find a list of the differences between version 8 and 9.
