Good evening all!

I have a LXNav (or LXNavigation) 7007.  It seems to be working and I just added an SD card reader.  I do have the LXe program and can write airport databases that the 7007 can read.  I don’t have the US database and have to just type in airports.  Would anyone have (or know of) a US airport database I could use with LXe and my 7007?

Thanks, Lou

Hi
As you said, the LX7007 is (was) made by LXNavigation, not LXNav. They are 2 different companies:

This group is discussing LXNav devices....

Hi Lou,

Unfortunately, LXe requires a separate airport database installation that hasn't been available for many years.

However, SeeYou for PC can transfer waypoint files to the LX7007.  They would be used as the "Turnpoint" database, not the "airport" database, but that is fine.  The LX7007 supports waypoint files of about 600 points - if I remember correctly.  SeeYou for PC can be used to open a current waypoint file and sort by distance, select the nearest 600 points, then save a file with those 600 points.  Then SeeYou for PC can transfer the file to the LX7007.  If you need, help, give me a call.  I charge for support like that, but it should take only about 30 minutes.  I charge $60/hour.

Hi John,

The soaring databases you create and maintain are wonderful.  But the old LXe software will only run if you have installed an LX Navigation created "Airport Database" file.  It is an installation program that you need to run after you install LXe.  I don't have any of the old ones, so I can't run LXe.  LXe is the only way, if I remember correctly, to load an "Airport" database into the LX7007.  However, as stated above, LX7007 owners can use a "Turnpoint" data file which includes both airports and other turnpoint types.  I never recommended using the "Airports" databases in LX Navigation or LXNAV products.  It's not necessary if you have a good "Turnpoint" file.  In a LXNAV LX80x0 or LX90x0, the "Airports" mode displays the "turnpoints".  But I don't think the old LX7007 displayed "Turnpoints" on the "Airports" mode screens.
