Bug #1004: Redirects takes down Apache

  • Author: lup etalo
  • Status: New
  • Priority: Immediate
  • Assignee:
  • Category:
  • Target version:
  • Affected version: 6.1.13
  • Resolution:
  • Reproduceable: Yes
  • Operating System: CentOS 5
  • Architecture: 32 & 64 Bit

When user adds local redirection in panel with dirs that not exist Kloxo writes bad config. When apache restarts it cant start because of this. Even worst, when you delete that config and recreate it with /fixweb it just write same bad config again. so server is locked until user or admin removes that redirection.
Here exact steps:
1. make some user
2. enter some redirecton rule in local Redirection section of panel
3. ssh run httpd -t or just try restarting apache
If you cant recreate steos i will provide screen record of this.
Tested on fresh install of latest kloxa and unfortunatly noticed in production server with more than 100 domains!
This should be priority, because single user can take down whole server!

If I were you, I would disable in the hosting plans that they can add
redirects until this bug is fixed.
