vpopmail package (Kloxo) information

Hi,

Not related to the current discussion at the forum and an issue at the project website from Marek (Spacedust).

That said,

I discovered that the vpopmail package Kloxo uses and in our repo differs from the vpopmail-toaster.

Current:
# rpm -qa | grep vpopmail
vpopmail-5.4.17-1.6.4

I have build for myself to test:
# rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/vpopmail-toaster-5.4.33-1.0.0.i386.rpm
Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]
groupadd: group vchkpw exists
   1:vpopmail-toaster       ########################################### [100%]

# rpm -qa | grep vpopmail
vpopmail-toaster-5.4.33-1.0.0


The major difference is that /home/lxadmin/mail is hardcoded in the specfile. I had to change the vpopmail-toaster.spec so that Paths are met with the current Kloxo.
Also i had some problems with files in /home/lxadmin/mail that do NOT exist in the vpopmail src rpm package from qmailtoaster and even not in the vpopmail source package. It looks like its okay now.


If you try to rebuild vpopmail-toaster from default, it wont build.

As you can see i could build it and updated it from 5.4.17 to 5.4.33 (Latest stable version)
Also i go try to test the 5.5.0 dev version.

And note that i replaced vpopmail-[version].rpm to vpopmail-toaster-[version].rpm. The first time i tried the Obsoletes: tag in the specfile and it worked as i wanted :) )

As this all is kind a new and parts are build from scratch, i do not release this package until tested. Ofcourse i put it in the test repo when my personal tests are done.

I have to choose between 5.4.33 and 5.5.0 dev. Altho the website does not show much about Changes between versions...  i can not tell the difference between .17 and .33 and to 5.5.0 dev

Send to this list just for information. Took me a few weeks to finaly got a clean build :-)

Hello i managed to fix the paths so that vpopmail managed to compile and build properly !!
but when i try to test it seems i found that there are some permitions and ownership errors with that

anyone has any clues ?

I managed to fix permition errors and ownerships so it actually works with my packages sends and receive properly emails

The only things i need to test and fix i suppose is the supervise scripts to work even with remote clients etc .. !! so i guess we are good to go soon :)
