Cheryl would like every local chairman to look at this suggested
survey of County Clerks and Election Officials. We need input today.
Please click on the file setting and then go to County Clerk Survey
Draft. We want to email this out as soon as possible. Post a
comment-yea, nay, or no comment. Thanks
This would also be a good base to take with you when you interview
your local county clerks. Our speaker, Peggy McGaugh, Carroll County
Clerk, is doing her own select county survey to bring a composite of
information to our meeting and we would like to let her have a heads
up on our survey.
I also am trying to get some summaries completed of some of the
resource information and will be posting them soon--example Alternate
Voting a 50 page article summarized down to one-fifth the size. Also
the 2001 National Commission on Federal Election Reform is being done
by Virginia Lawless on the KC local committee and I should get it
tonight. I am working on an Early Voting Summary Sheet. So keep
checking back.
Susan were you able to condense the Best Practice article? Janie, do
you have any gems from John fortier's Absentee and Early voting,
Trends, Promises, and Perils?
There is lots of material available but I think the time is try to get
the best information summarized and out for review.
Marty, did you note that you have an expert there at Univ. of Missouri
St. Louis David Kimball has done studies on voting errors
www.umsl.edu/~kimballd/rtables.pdf He is quoted in several reports
like Data for Democracy Improving elections through Metrics and
Measurement from the Pew Center
Janice Dahl did an excellent job on our first article for the Voter.
Do you have suggestions for the focus of Article #2. Deadline for
this 300 word article is Sept. 19.
