The recommedation for best voting is that election day voting should
continue to be the central touchstone of elections. For better voting
on election day, have extended hours at polling places(6:00PM to
9:00PM) and voting centers which allow voters to cast their votes at
any of them. Also recommended is written communication by mail to
voters as to where their polling places are. For early voting there
should be a short period to vote, no more than ten days prior to
election day. Early voting should have the same protections as polling
places-restrictions on solicitations and have observers present.
Early voting would require early voter education. Early voting will
help people who can not vote on election day because of work or family
obligations.
