Today, a friend introduced me to HPMOR and this group, and I'm interested in learning more. What are the best sources of information for this? I'm also interested in meeting people in this group. Will there be a meetup soon?

The Sequences are a good place to start. http://wiki.lesswrong.com/wiki/Sequences
I should put together my "all of Yudkowsky's posts" ebook again (and make all the links work). There are ebooks for the sequences, but they tend to either omit context or include it in awkward form.

Hi! There's no meetup planned right now, but maybe we should do a gettogether soon. I could plan one in two weeks. If someone else wants to host one, I endorse that too!
If you're eager to meet someone, if you're near South Lake Union there's a bunch of us that would be excited to meet for lunch.
As for reading, Generalizing From One Example and Diseased Thinking: Dissolving Questions about Disease are both classic articles and give excellent links back into the A Human's Guide To Words sequence, which I think of as a big chunk of what LessWrong is about.
