Yo yo: This Sunday, March 11th, at 4:00 PM. Let's have a meetup. At my place! 15207 NE 72nd St Redmond, and my number is 425-516-9400. The plan is as follows:

1. I talk a little bit about queueing theory and the prescription to reduce queue size (http://lesswrong.com/lw/9t4/february_2012_media_thread/5u24), then we discuss.
2. Freeform transitioning into food, probably from Spicy Talk Bistro.
3. More freeform? Or board games? Likely alcohol? Maybe AI-boxing? Maybe chessboxing, but I doubt it.

John Salvatier has volunteered to give rides. Anyone else? Note that the 520 bridge will be closed this weekend.

(Official ending time, if we need one, is, um, probably whenever John leaves and thus influenced by whoever he drives, so okay, I don't know but how about we anchor on 6:30? Unofficial "when I want everyone out" is 10 unless we're playing Mage Knight.)

Let me know if you don't want to/can't drive and want a ride from Seattle. I am fairly flexible about what time we come back.

I'm going to need a ride.

I'm interested and will probably come.

That sounds really interesting.  I'll be there.

I can also provide transportation.

I will most likely be there!

I would but it's finals time.

I want in, but I live on Vashon. Maybe I can take a bus to Seattle and catch a ride with Salvatier or Powell?

Given that, and the capacity to figure out the bus schedule, nobody has any less information than I do about what to do with me. I throw myself on the mercy of the court!

(Also, am I correct in deducing that LW groups are super duper informal, and I can pretty much just show up without any introductory rigmarole?)

Welcome Spencer!

Yes, our meetups have been pretty informal, feel free to show up.

I could give you a ride; the only trickiness might be getting back. Do you know when busses stop running back to vashon?

That shouldn't be a problem; they keep running well past 11 PM. There's a schedule here:

I don't find it terribly readable, though. Me, I usually just use google maps.

Excellent! Send me your phone number and where you'll want me to pick you up. My phone number is 360-602-1069.

For me, the MOST convenient (feasible) pick-up point would be the Fauntleroy ferry terminal, assuming you're not on Vashon yourself. The second-most-convenient pick-up point is not a point; it's a line.

Basically, pick a time and a bus stop on the 54 route, or anywhere in the neighborhood of one, and I'll be there. I'm easy. You have the superior epistemic position, here, so I defer to your judgement!

Hi, I have been following the Less Wrong blog but have never actually
been to a meetup, my boyfriend and I would like to join you guys today
if that's all right. Is it customary to bring anything to the meetup?

Looking forward to meeting you guys,

Julia Schwarz

Hi Julia!

I assume you mean tomorrow? No need to bring anything. I look forward to seeing you and your boyfriend!

John
