Alright, you guys have sold me. I've decided to move to Louisville in early September, so as per suggestion I'm planning on coming up the second week of August to look for housing. I'm thinking of driving up Sunday 08/05 and hopefully leaving victorious Friday or Saturday 08/11.  If possible I'd like to crash on couches as my wealth is severely limited. If this is not possible any suggestions of cheap motels/hostels/bridges would be extremely helpful too. It would be absolutely great if someone with experience with finding housing in Louisville could help point me in the right directions while I'm there, or even drive around with me on a magical housing adventure[haha]. Also, I've got a week to prepare (or I could potentially delay it a bit, but I feel I better get a move on) what should I bring in order to best ingratiate myself with Louisville landlords.

Thanks again guys,
Gerrit Coetzee

I can give any personal information you want, if it helps.

Oh, you said Aug., so the tickets aren't going to help you much.

Do know of one guy that has a small house out near the airport and
university district.
He was looking for a roommate to split up housing costs, I'd have to
check if he was still needing that
if you'd be interested.

Thanks for the replies! I've found accommodations for the week, but I would still like any help I can get in my apartment search. I'll be in Louisville this Friday, 08/03 and will be staying until Sunday 08/12.

Thanks,
Gerrit Coetzee
