I've successfully built a piratebox from a TP-Link MR3020. Works like a
usb 'deaddrop', only wireless. I thought it might work out well to have
one at the workshop, to keep the questionable data out of reach of the
Internet as well as a measure of plausible deniability. Perhaps one that
can be reached from the front sidewalk, with a sizable USB drive, and
plugged into a night sensor so that it won't be available during regular
business hours.

Ok, followed Links, got lost.
Can you tl;dr what is it, how do we use it?

Yeah, well...
the piratebox is a wifi device that acts as a disconnected Internet. Wifi
devices can connect to it, upload and download files via a web browser,
and talk to each other (if the settings are right & devices use apps
intended to do so) by using the piratebox as a kind of repeater. Ad hoc
without rooting devices. The piratebox does not log connections or bridge
to the Internet, intentionally. It's like the usb deaddrops project, only
via wifi.
1) Portablity
2) security from wan side observation
3) lack of Internet service costs.
I don't really have a reasonable answer to that question.

Interesting analogy. After pointing out the kiddie porn thing, and then
the chapstick analogy; my childhood memories or sharing chapstick with my
older sister feel a bit icky.
The only respectable answer to that question would be to grant everyone
delete rights, but I don't really know how to do that.
Yeah, one of my teachers works for humana and asked me about finding some one as well... Probably the same person.
