I am on the hunt for a free or inexpensive cell phone. If anyone has anything lying around let me know. I'll throw them a couple dollars if it would make it worth their time.

I have a scratched up treo 650 you can have. It only works with Sprint though. You'd probably do better with one of their free phones though.

Just be careful, I put a sim into my old iphone 3s and AT&T immediatly put a $30 dataplan on that line. Turns out, you cannot have ANY smartphone connected to ANY of the major cell companies without a dataplan. I was not planning on using the AT&T 3G network (only wifi) and I turned it off. BEWARE! Doesn't seem right, does it? Where is EFF when you need them?

Well, I have an android that has a prepaid plan with Virgin Mobile for $25
per month that comes with a data plan, and is connected to the Sprint
network, but it's speed trottled to about 115 Kbps and recently capped to
2.5 gigs per month. There is also TruConnect.com that I'm considering for
my other devices, since I've never come close to the cap.
