With David and Orion’s help we now also have the new air compressor in place and in service!!!!!

While finishing up the DRO install on the mill, why stop there?!  Happy ‘new-air-compressor’ day!!

Key details & things to know for proper use:
  • The main compressor has been moved into place and piped in series with the old tank to act as a reserve volume for the system.
  • A main shut off and a reserve shutoff isolate both tanks from the system.
  • Opening the reserve shutoff can allow low volumes of air to be used for a short time.
  • Opening the main shutoff tops off the reserve tank and keeps the system pressurized for extended use (lasering)
  • Both valves should be closed when air is not in use and when locking up the space.
We’ll add some labels and finish supporting the new piping. Thanks again for all the help and all that everyone has been up to lately.
Now that the old compressor has been taken out of service we can see if it can be further saved or used although I believe it doesn’t owe much more to anyone.

Cheers,
Kevin Costello
