I just bought a large lot of tools and realized just how many extra sockets and wrenches I have. I think it would be a good opportunity to replenish some of the missing sizes and fill out some of the sets in the yellow toolbox.

Does anyone want to Tylenol out with me and sort these by drive size, length, hex size and 6 vs 12 pt?

Relatedly, I think the we would benefit from some socket organizers. I can get some from Menards Or the jungle website, if the space will reimburse me

I’d be down for this, but I’m booked out until Sunday.  Also. What do you think about 3d printing some socket organizers?
Is that even a worthwhile alternative?

Howdy.

I'd make it if I had reliable transpo!

But, on the flipside, since I'm looking for extra tools. Um, can you share with us, how you obtained this collection?? yard sale, going out of biz, etc.

thanks

An organized, complete collection of sockets and wrenches is a much-needed VALUABLE IMPROVEMENT to LVL1's complement of tooling.  Particularly as our culture continues to improve and folks make the effort to keep it that way.

Let's see how it sorts out into (hopefully) complete collections based on imperial/metric and  across the different sizes and types.  If we have extras of select sizes, we could consider to tag and stage specific dedicated tools at specific locations/machines (like is done for the wrench for the table saw blade).    I suggest we start with grassroots efforts to organize and house the sorted subsets and then consider cost-effective, appropriate organizers.

Thanks to ALL who join this effort to make LVL1 better, bit-by-bit, and socket-by-socket.   JimD

If you want, see if you can make two or three sets.
Main shop
Metal shop
Power wheels area

Make a list, of what you are short of.
I’m sure I can fill in any that you are missing
