The software to use is Retina Engrave 3d 4.338 and it is loaded on the laser cutter computer.  I am not too familiar with the software yet, but I was able to get it to cut and also to raster engrave.  The new software has the ability to design directly.  It looks pretty cool.

With the new card and software, the power potentiometer on the control panel is disconnected and does not do anything.  If you get a cannot connect message, then you probably need to turn on the cutter on the control panel.

As always, if you have never used the laser, then get someone with experience to show you how.  AND WHATEVER YOU DO, ALWAYS STAY WITH THE LASER WHILE IT IS CUTTING!

Went down to the club to try out the laser on some leather , it would not connect , even with turning the key a few times and restarting the Retina software. Any thing I can try next time I come down?

The laser needs to be on with the key in the on position. The red laser will be on and there are also 2 green LEDs on the power supply that will also be on. It takes a few moments to connect. You can also pull the USB cable (on the computer end)
and plug it back in to tell windows to reload the ftdi drivers. Other than that all I can say is try again.
