Dear Presidents, VPEs and VPMs,
I hope you're doing well, and I would like to share latest news -- we have quite a lot of them!
Please read them carefully, many ask for an action by your club.
1. Organizing team for the All-Ukrainian speech contest.
All clubs have already had their speech contests, and the 11th All-Ukrainian speech contest is planned for April 25 at the Klovsky lyceum, our usual place.
We're looking for a volunteer to act as the head of the organizing committee -- perhaps as the HPL goal for the ALS award, or to try out your organizing skills. Anyone in your club interested?
2. Joining District 95.
The Board of Director met on Feb 14-15 to vote, among other things, our application to join District 95. The results are usually announced with a few week's delay. We will inform you as soon as we have them.
As a reminder, this was the last step in our application process.
Meanwhile, we're already working with the District's alignment committee to decide which areas and division our clubs will be in.
Julia Barchukova is a member of the committee. The final decision is not made yet, but, as of now, we would be joining Division B in Poland, together with clubs in Krakow, Katowice and Rzeszow. I'll update as we have more news.
3. Nominating candidates for Area Governors for 2015-2016.
If we join D95, our two Area Governors will be appointed directly by the District, rather than elected at an ACM as it was earlier. This position will be called "Area Director" starting from July 1.
There is a special nominating committee formed to gather applications, interview candidates and propose one or several best of them to the district officers.
You are welcome to nominate your candidates.
The deadline is March 10.
Please find details here: http://toastmastersd95.org/call-for-nominations-for-officers-to-serve-in-district-95-in-2015-2016/
Every current member can nominate any other member or themselves. Please keep in mind that:
Let me remind that we'll have two areas, so please nominate people from one of that area's clubs:
4. Visiting international conferences.
We have two major conferences upcoming:
5. Dues collection.
We can see that the dollar exchange is difficult to predict, and is beyond the comfortable zone for many members.
No one has an answer about what to do yet, so can I ask your clubs to share some ideas about how to continue collecting the dues and keep our members? We'll probably have a discussion based on that, perhaps at an ACM in March.
6. Demo meeting in Khmelnytskyy.
Mariia Kapustian, a former member of Art Talkers, would like to start a new club in Khmelnytskyy, and organizes a demo meeting this Sunday, March 1.
We have already assembled a team to go there, but if you want to join, please let me know. We go by train for just a few hours, there and back. There are still plenty of tickets.
7. Proposed advanced Toastmasters club.
Tatiana Knyazeva, past president of Art Talkers, would like to organize an advanced Toastmasters club.
The original idea is to have a club for those who have completed their CCs, with meetings once a month, and an "up or out" policy.
If you're interested, please ping me, or Tanya directly at tatiana.kn...@gmail.com.
8. Club DCP achievements.
As you can see from the dashboard, three of our clubs have already achieved the DCP points needed to become Select Distinguished or better:
Well done, and waiting for even better progress from these and other clubs by June 30!
Have a nice day, and waiting for your replies on the first several items!
Thanks,
Serhiy
