niur...@ult.edu.cu RESUMENLa cuestión de la memoria ha cobrado auge en los estudios culturales contemporáneos, en tanto esta se convierte en uno de los recursos fundamentales para la reafirmación de las identidades. El objetivo del presente trabajo de investigación consiste en realizar un análisis crítico de la categoría memoria a partir de los diferentes criterios aportados por los teóricos del tema. Se abordan los términos asociados a dicha categoría: memoria cultural, memoria colectiva, memoria histórica, olvido social, amnesia colectiva. Como resultado de la sistematización del término, la autora de este estudio establece una definición de memoria cultural, la cual constituye el eje teórico central. SUMMARYThe issue of memory has become important in contemporary cultural studies, as this becomes a fundamental resource for the reaffirmation of identities. The objective of this research is to conduct a critical analysis of memory from the different ideas provided by the theorists of the subject. We analyze the terms: cultural memory, collective memory, historical memory, social oblivion, collective amnesia. As a result of the systematization of the category, the author of this study provides a definition of cultural memory, which constitutes the central theoretical axis.
