Free label templates make printing easy for all of our high quality labels. Whether you're printing on an inkjet or laser printer, choose the template file download that corresponds to the label you are printing. Most label templates are available in four popular file types, so you can choose the one that you are most comfortable with.

Before printing your labels from a label template, it is best to read your printers manual to make sure you are using the correct feed tray and you have changed the property settings according to the type of paper or film you printing on.

Option 3, which is my least favorite, is to not have the label inside the template, meaning I have to add a label whenever I add a template and configure the text. - Since the label text is already part of the UDT parameters it makes more sense to me to be contained.

I would not use any UDT parameters, though. Always pass a tag path instead of a UDT. Then everything works even if you pass a path that has a folder with the same structure as the original UDT. Or switch among multiple UDTs that can't be modeled by inheritance.

Not to derail the topic, but, is there any downside to using the UDT other than flexibility?
I have started using indirect tags within templates and pop pages (as suggested in other threads by yourself and Nick) to access UDT parameters, so not totally against it.
We currently only have a single device UDT regardless of how many types of AOIs are in the PLC.
I also like the fact I can use the drop target to quickly add templates to the pages (which I assume wont work without a few extra mouse clicks when only passing a tag path?!)

Error message I see is:
Exception: Error executing expression binding on
Testing.Testing.ShortName_Lbl.OffsetX
caused by ExpressionException: Error executing script for runScript() expression:system.gui.transform
caused by java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.RuntimeException: Component argument not found.

That worked a treat. That will definitely fix up my (horrible) multi label templates.
I will need to keep the current large template size however as the label can be placed outside of the template width and height but is not visible (changing the template width and height - doesn't look like I can use transform on self.parent?! and directly referencing self.parent.width and self.parent.height in the MoveMe method doesn't seem to work)

yes, this is how i set up the page exactly - File->-new->labels. And if you click on the format tab, all of the measurements are correct. Yet, somehow, it is adding .5" to the top margin when printing

Did you check your printer driver settings as well? Could you upload an anonymized version of your document to be printed? If yes - edit your question and upload using the clip symbol in the toolbar (sample shown in this image):

When you go to file - new - labels and select Avery 8160, in the label inscription box where you type the text, add one blank line to the top and space 4 times on each of your line items of text before you type.

Just click on the very last label or card on the existing template page. Hit tab. You might have to hit a couple times, but it only took once for me. It will create a brand new black label page, no problem!

I am setting up a label template for the first time and the Stocky instructions do not match the Dymo software. I would like to print labels directly from my Stocky purchase orders using the Shopify fields. My Dymo software does not allow for a Reference Name section. I've tried creating a spreadsheet and importing the fields and then the printer only prints the field names for each lable rather than populating with the corresponsding field data from the Stocky purchase orders.

Hello Mrobbins - The trick is you need to adjust the properties for each text or barcode field that you create in the DYMO software. If you want Price, Title and Barcode on the label, you have to have two text boxes and barcode box added to the template you are making. Then adjust the advanced properties of each to the Stocky specs. ("price" "product_title" "barcode" in my example). Save the template, and upload to Stocky. See how the label I built in DYMO looks in the image below. Hope that helps!

I think some of the disconnect here is that screenshot is not at all the software that comes with the Dymo printers now. The current software doesn't seem to have the "advanced properties" that the instructions talk about.

The answer to the question, which doesn't seem to be answered here or known by tech support as of this date, is that the Shopify documentation is out of date and the new Dymo software does not allow this feature. For anyone who has found their way to this thread, please do not download the newest Dymo Label Connect Software, instead download the older software, Dymo Labelwriter (for a mac 8.7.4). I am only working on a mac and I do not know if this applies to Windows.

Were you successful in getting your labels to print? I'm struggling with the exact same issue. Trying to decide whether to stop using stocky app because of it. I would love to know if you were successful.

Also ... my wife has been on with support & they can't figure out how to get smaller label templates to carry the necessary barcode & script info, when you're looking to do what NORMAL brick & mortar store do, and print on crazy label that are like 1"x1", or like a jewelry "butterfly" label. Easier to pawn it off on 3rd party apps to make $$$ vs. working as a normal POS software. Pretty sketchy, at best. I even see the 3rd party apps trolling many "community" questions to offer help, and many don't have the depth to offer full solutions. Truly frustrating after spending $thousand in pro costs to migrate product to the Shopify & Shopify POS platform.

After pulling my hair out for hours to trying to figure this out, I figured it out... WHY has Shopify not fixed this already?! You need to download and use Dymo Label Software 8.5.4. (NOT Dymo Connect.) You can find it here, just ctrl+F Dymo Label Software 8.5.4: -chart.html

I just switched from Square and I'm so disappointed that Shopify really doesn't seem to give a sh*t about their brick & mortar/POS functionality & experience... This seems like such a basic feature that turned out to be a huge pain in the ass.

That's one of the Barcode issues, because we have "jewelry" with far smaller tags, as you can't have a 2.5 X 0.75"-inch label ON jewelry or a larger tags. It's moronic as a POS glitch, or inability for Shopify to have "labeling" software that understand what a "brick & mortar" store needs. Instead we print the above label for the brand/price of jewelry we carry & keep it at the register to scan, which is very difficult to deal with inventory, as you have to either know what's selling between 3 ladies working there, including my wife, and KNOW what's selling & needs replacing/re-order. I know for sure their theory is "Why improve our POS system for shops, if we can make commissions off 3rd Party "APPS" that still don't resolve the issue completely. Let me know if you're able to reduce the font enough to fit on a "Butterfly" jewelry label, which is probably like 0.5" x 0.75" inches at EACH end. I see one sticker that has the barcode on ONE side, the info on the other...

I'd like to create a sheet of labels like my old Avery software. I have 21 63x38mm labels in 3 columns of 7 rows. In betweeb each column there is a 2mm gap. Then there's space at the edges of the page too.

With that said, you can kinda do what you're saying with workflows. It's a bit of a hack and probably not all that pragmatic but you can make a custom property on the contact (or whatever you are trying to associate into) and you then want to get the association label into this field.

Even though this isn't a true if/then only one of them can really execute on a given object because you only have one association label so the rest won't execute (more accurately, they will attempt to execute and do nothing) so it essentially acts as an if then

At that point you have the association label in a field so you can use it for personalization-- this only works with one association label per item which is what makes sense anyways if they were to be in a token (you can organize the ones above in a certain order if you want one to take precedence, that should work though I didn't test it)

The only thing left is you need a way to trigger this workflow. I believe doing something like "number of associatied contacts" is "known" should work but I would need to test that to know for sure.

Again this isn't really pragmatic if you have a large number of association labels (although you really shouldn't most of the time) but it can work if you have a handful. For the record: I haven't end to end tested this it's fully acadmeic and relying on a lot of quirks in the tool to work but it should work.

Hopefully this helps!
