Astun grenade, also known as a flash grenade, flashbang, thunderflash, or sound bomb,[1] is a non-lethal explosive device used to temporarily disorient an enemy's senses. Upon detonation, a stun grenade produces a blinding flash of light and an extremely loud "bang". They are often used in close-quarters combat, door breaching, and riot control, typically to stun enemies or distract them.[citation needed]

Stun grenades were first used by the British Army Special Air Service's counterterrorist wing in the late 1970s,[2][3] and have been used by police and military forces worldwide since.[citation needed]

The flash temporarily activates all photoreceptor cells in the eye, blinding it for approximately five seconds. Afterward, victims perceive an afterimage that impairs their vision. The volume of the detonation also causes temporary deafness in the victim and disturbs the fluid in the ear, causing a loss of balance.[6]

Unlike a fragmentation grenade, stun grenades are constructed with a casing designed to remain intact during detonation and avoid fragmentation injuries, while having large circular cutouts to allow the light and sound of the explosion through. The filler comprises a pyrotechnic metal-oxidant mix of magnesium or aluminium and an oxidizer such as potassium perchlorate or potassium nitrate.[7]

While stun grenades are designed to limit injury, permanent hearing loss has been reported,[8][9] the concussive blast has the ability to cause injuries, and the heat generated may ignite flammable materials. The fires that occurred during the 1980 Iranian Embassy siege in London were caused by stun grenades.[10]

but the way the flash happens is not that good

maybe if the blinding effect looked a little more like the magnetic proc, like distorting the players HUD will make it more tolerable

Its the white saturation that hurts the most. Didnt arc traps aswell as the original ceres tileset have the exact same effects and complaints which inevitably had thier effects removed after receiving the exact same feedback?

Maybe they over adjusted, but they have game logs, we don't. If enough people are using shotguns, they probably don't think they need to do anything, and unless they tell us how common shotgun use is, we are still guessing.

Hi there! To whom it may concern, I was playing the Alan Wake chapter on the PTB when it was available a few weeks ago. While playing the PTB, I played against a streamer, and I went to check their video after the match.

Champion of Light states that while shining a flashlight, yoy get 50% haste until you stop shining it. The secondary effect is that after a successful blind, it doesn't say with a flashlight, the killer becomes Hindered by 20% for 6 seconds.

When the Alan Wake chapter came to live servers, I tested Champion of Light with Flashbang again and played against another streamer. Checking this person's VOD afterwards, they were blinded by a flashbang of mine, and the Champion of Light Hindered did not apply. The killer was blinded, but no hindered status effect.
