Definitely the LG GF-V570MBL. I just purchased this one and its the best fridge I've owned. Exceptional build and quality, unlike Fisher and Paykel fridges that use cheap plastics and have poor finishes. My last Fisher and Paykel fridge broke down after 6 years and F&P customer service was terrible.
- Ice maker in the fridge door. F&P one has ice maker in the freezer section, which is a pain to get out if you want any ice, and its prone to freezing the ice cubes together. LG has an automatic swivel stick in its ice bucket section that ensures ice does not clump together.
- 10 year motor warranty and 5 years on some other parts
- deodoriser in the fridge to get rid of smells
- freezer has doors rather than a drawer, with 6 individual trays to very easily organise and separate your food
- exceptionally quiet inverter motor, can hardly hear the fridge running
- sliding shelf so you can store more tall items in the bottom section of the fridge if you run out of space in the door compartment
- door cooling function which ensures the door items are cooled quickly and stay cooled
- wifi functionality allows firmware upgrades and remote access to temperature settings
- the heavy fridge doors, mainly due to having the ice maker in the door
- exterior paint is very easily chipped and sides are easy to dent
- fridge storage a bit small for more than a 2 person household, but its plenty for just me. The next size up model would suit a larger household but I've read some people have had issues with the crisper compartments freezing up in the bigger size models.

My point is you still need to open the freezer door to access the ice. The LG you put your glass up against the door and ice comes out, couldn't be any easier. The other benefit is you can get crushed ice versus only cubes with the F&P.
The ice maker in the LG is unique as its a slim line in door system and only takes up some of the door space on one side of the internal fridge space (unlike the Samsung ice makers with a big container inside the fridge).
I actually have the non-instaview version, the one without the window and separate exterior door to access drinks, etc. I read a lot of reviews and the consensus was the instaview was a gimmick and the separate door was useful for some people.
I was lucky as I bought it during an Ebay Good Guys 20% off sale, so I scored it for under $2,000. I think you could easily get 10% off if you asked and I still think it's worth paying for what you get.
Other question on the LG: Some people complained that the water and ice dispenser volume wasn't large enough, meaning you'd only get a bit of cold water and the rest would be lukewarm. Did you observe any of that?
The width of my fridgehole is about 840mm, with a conduit for wiring down the wall taking about 15mm off that, so the narrowest point in the cavity is 825mm, but for purposes of air flow it's 840mm. 790mm seems to be a fairly common width for fridges. Is that too wide for my space? I've read you should leave 50mm each side, but I'd only have 25mm free each side with a 790mm fridge. Any thoughts?
There's only enough cold water for the first glass or two, and then it does get warmer, but still cooler than room temperature. I think its an issue with all these type of fridges due to their design and there would need to be a separate container in the fridge to keep water cool (taking up space).
funny thing is when we bought our Westinghouse fridge the guy at hardly normal told us the old ones last forever the new ones will only last 2 years--yeah good salesman
it's now 7or 8 years old
he did sell us a power filter for it as well--said that helps for power spikes which shortens their life
salesman said new fridges are made for low power use and not to last a long time
so far our Westinghouse has not missed a beat
last month we also bought a Westinghouse chest freezer on the strength of it
Yes I did look at that model at bing lee yesterday. I read a lot of good things about it and the brand. My issue is that I only have 1cm top clearance for this one. Manufacturer lists 5cm. Also they are all listed as 'discontinued'.
At Appliances online you can input your cavity dimensions and it will select the fridges that match those dimensions.
Also Appliances Online deliver the new fridge and remove your old one, no extra charge.

OP I have the exact LG fridge (LG GF-V570MBL) you described in your post. This is the third LG French Door fridge that I have owned and I have had no problems with them. My only problem is that I keep moving and every fridge space is smaller then the last.
