In order to quickly understand MBT and OBM business goals, Henry first extended a warm welcome to OBM dedicated team members, and then introduced MBT OSC main strategies, which include second H.Q. in Europe, North America breakthrough and TO B globalization, encouraging team members bravely facing the challenges and climbing the peak in 2022.


Next, Marie who is OBM Manager of Product& Sales Management Department, firstly introduced the general situation of MBT OSC, and then explained this year's OBM D500 channel sinking plan, professional channel breakthrough, and Key projects support. MBT OSC will also provide support of sales policies, training programs, sales tools and after-sales service. Marie also mentioned that MBT headquarter will regularly organize quarterly meetings to encourage OBM dedicated team members to share their experiences. At the same time, MBT OSC will carry out different standards to evaluate the performance of sales, marketing promotion, technical support and after-sales service. We will present the award to these staffs who has outstanding performance in each sales season during the quarterly conference.


In order to support OBM business development in overseas market, Chief VRF engineer Hayden, introduced the upcoming NEW V8 to support the overseas expansion of the dedicated team. V8 series fully considers the characteristics and needs of the building, and has made a comprehensive innovation in the design and function of the internal and external units. OBM dedicated team members from various countries expressed their high expectations for the new V8 series.


In addition, the overseas marketing manager of the Marketing Department Mr. Yang, mainly introduced the responsibilities of MBT OSC marketing department based on three-level structure. He defined marketing department as a bridge between R&D and front line. Emphasizing that the main job of regional and national marketers is to implement Key action of 2B marketing support which includes market to leads, key projects breakthrough, social media operations, information collection of other players, etc. as well as a series of empowerment plans for regional and national sides. Yang also mentioned that MBT H.Q. encourages OBM dedicated team members to share excellent cases, and the marketing department will regularly evaluate the submitted cases and award the outstanding ones.


Jackey who is an expert in after-sales and training systems, introduced MBT OSC after-sales strategy in 2022. MBT H.Q. will support OBM partners to recruit after-sales service engineers. Meanwhile, We will provide support by launching I-service online system& ASP service provider management system, organizing customer local channel training program, setting up regional spare parts center to accelerate spare parts delivery speed, etc. So far, the atmosphere of the meeting has reached a climax. The members of OBM dedicated teams from various countries are full of expectations for future work.


At the end of the meeting, we invited Mr. Ian Ehlers from South Africa, to share us with his experience in developing TO B channels. In addition, Mr. George Grdzelidze from Georgia introduced how to break through Key projects.


This meeting enables global dedicated OBM team members to have a better understanding of MBT overseas strategies and new policies in 2022. With strong support of MBT headquarter, we have confidence to open a new chapter of OBM business with joint efforts of all global OBM team members. Let us go forward together and make new achievements in the coming season.


AHRI will participate in the CONUEE standards WG, and will advocate for reference to AHRI Standard 340/360 (I-P), Performance Rating of Commercial and Industrial Unitary Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Equipment for limits, test methods, and labeling. During the week of June 17, AHRI Senior Director of International Affairs Michael LaGiglia and AHRI LATAM Regional Manager Mario Maldonado participated in the fifth CONUEE working group (WG) meeting as part of revisions to Mexican NOM-011, which establishes the minimum energy performance standard (MEPS) for central, package, or split air conditioners.


During the most recent WG meeting, members discussed the current MEPS levels, testing, and labeling, with AHRI presenting AHRI Standard 210/240 (I-P), Performance Rating of Unitary Air-Conditioning and Air-Source Heat Pump Equipment as a reference for testing methods and minimum efficiency levels. AHRI has been involved in the revisions process since 2022, when it organized a member task force to assist in the harmonization efforts. Contact: Mario Maldonado.


On May 3, AHRI LATAM staff and AHRI International Director Michael LaGiglia met with ANCE to discuss the approval process for that organization to begin AHRI product performance certification testing. ANCE is a Mexican nonprofit organization that was established in 1992 to provide product certification services for consumer and commercial products. With extensive experience in testing large equipment, ANCE has expressed interest in working with AHRI since the opening of the office in Mexico City.


The AHRI Latin America office was proud to co-sponsor and participate in the Expo FrioCalor, held May 7-9 in Santiago, Chile. In addition to exhibiting during the expo, AHRI LATAM Regional Director Mario Maldonado led an educational session about AHRI's certification programs and regulatory tracking resources.


This will be the eighth edition of the REFRICON congress, and is being organized by Refrimundo. The meeting will focus on regulations, recent trends, new technologies, and efficiency within the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, bringing together experts to discuss topics of interest in the local and regional markets. On February 28, AHRI LATAM Managing Director Luis Vzquez Gmez participated in the ASHRAE Mexico City Chapter Board of Governors meeting. The Board, of which Vzquez Gmez is a member, discussed several topics of interest, including promotion of AHRI standards and product certification and the ongoing efforts to harmonize AHRI and NOM Standards. In 2022, AHRI established a working group made up of a members and AHRI LATAM staff to assist CONUEE, the Mexican energy efficiency regulator, with the harmonization efforts. The recently published revision is based on AHRI Standard 210/240, Performance Rating of Unitary Air Conditioning & Air-Source Heat Pump Equipment, meaning equipment that meets the AHRI standard does not need to undergo additional testing to meet Mexican energy efficiency standards. On November 19, 2020, THE FIRST SUPPLIERS CONFERENCE OF MIDEA MCA DIVISION was held at the headquarters of Midea in Shunde, Guangdong. The meeting announced a good news that Shanghai Songshan Electronics Co., Ltd. won the highest award of "Strategic Cooperative Partner". The new joint venture will bring together Carrier's extensive distribution network and Midea's pipelineless equipment development expertise to meet the growing demand in North America for residential HVAC systems of this class.


Midea has long been a global provider of Carrier's ductless residential HVAC systems. Through the creation of the joint venture, Carrier and Midea will transform their existing relationship with suppliers into a long-term collaboration dedicated to better meeting North American demand for energy-efficient residential pipelineless solutions.
