One of the features of many successful grant applications is a clear presentation of how your current project fits with your extant career. Some grant agencies will ask for a "track record", a "match between the fellow's profile and the project" or a statement regarding "major accomplishments" (e.g., MCF, ERC), while others do at least implicitly expect the applicant to relate her or his extant research to a new project (e.g., VR, RJ). Especially junior researchers may for various reasons find it challenging to tell such a story, particularly if they had less than full freedom in choosing their previous employments. A related issue is the exact wording that would likely convince various grant providers. This seminar assists researchers in finding the right angle for one's research assessment, and the proper language-register, so as to that make the most of one’s extant research experience.
