Hello everyone, thanks for joining and welcome to this new Lunarium
Group.

For months I was planning to create some kind of newsletter that would
allow me to send to everyone interested a message about what's going
on at Lunarium, what I am working on at the moment and what are my
plans for the future. I was going to build some custom solution from
scratch - but never was able to find enough time for it.

Now, helped by the retrograde Mercury, which often helps to find an
unusual way out of the dead end, I decided to start this group. Who
knows, It might be a better and a more valuable solution - not only I
will be able to bring you Lunarium's news but we might be able to
communicate actively, to answer each others' questions and exchange
ideas.

I have just completed a major transition - changed a job and moved
from Scotland, where I lived for five years, to Staines, a town in the
Greater London. This was a major effort, and no doubt I didn't have
enough time to work on Lunarium in the past couple of months.

Now I am gradually coming back to normal life. Currently, I am
concentrating on a planetary hours calculator for Android platform.
iLuna for Android was well accepted by the user and I decided to
create another app for this platform. As soon as this is finished, I
will concentrate my efforts on completing the articles that were
started long time ago but still weren't finished. The first of them is
about retrograde planets - I came to the most interesting point and
then stopped. The second unfinished text is my translation of the
lunar days descriptions from Vronsky and Globa.

After that I will probably update some of my programs for iPhone -
Hours, for example, desperately needs a database of location and a
more convenient interface.

Then there are pieces of work that need to be done sooner rather than
later but were not prioritised yet - an article describing two
different approaches to the lunar gardening, and why there is a
difference between the Universal and Gardening calendars.

Also, the next lesson of the Astro School is waiting to be written.

So there is plenty of work ahead, and it would be great to have some
feedback from you: what is the most interesting and important for you?
Maybe under your influence I will change my priorities, who knows.

Once again, thanks for joining the group, and welcome!

Alex,

Thanks for the invitation. I appreciate that you are working on a
calculator for the Android, How different will it be from Android
Lunarium app we are currently using?

Between, you and me I think it is brilliant what you are doing. It
lends itself very well to the Android culture, and augments it quite
splendidly in my humble, novice opinion.

Keep up the fabulous work Alex.

Regards,

Keith

Thank you very much, Keith!

Planetary Hours Calculator for Android will reproduce the
functionality of this page: http://www.lunarium.co.uk/planets/hours.jsp

With the difference that it will be completely self-sufficient - i.e.
independent on whether there is a network or not. Also it will be easy
to use as it will be specifically designed for the device's screen
size. And it will allow you to calculate the planetary hours for your
current location - no matter where you are on the Earth... as far as
GPS or mobile signal are available there :)

Thanks for the kind invite! It's great to see some activity going on
at lunarium. I'll be following this discussion group with great
enthusiasm! By the way, I hope you'll consider writing software for
linux users one day. I have recently switched to Ubuntu and there are
not many astrology programs written for this operating system. Have a
good day!

Hi Tansel,

It's great to see you here! I hope you will continue to point me out
my typos and mistakes from time to time :)

There is always some work going on on Lunarium, but it is not always
visible. But I will keep you updated here! :)

As for programs for Linux... I am not that keen these days about
creating programs for desktop computers. I believe the future is with
mobile devices. So what I will be trying to do is to create different
applications for as many mobile platforms as possible. I am already
quite experienced with iPhone and Android - and I am working with them
professionally. I have a lot of enthusiasm about the coming Windows
Phone 7. I would wish to learn to use Qt to program for Nokia and
other Symbian phones. I started working on iLuna for BlackBerry but I
am stuck there, as the BlackBerry platform is so old and limiting,
from the developer's point of view. And also I have at least a dozen
of ideas of various astrological, numerological, Feng Shui, Nine Star
Ki and so on programs of different complexity. So, no, it is unlikely
that I will also program for some desktop system, be it Linux, Windows
or Mac. I am tempted, honestly, but I simply don't have time :)
