Hi everyone,

This is an updated, revised version of the CAN interface board for the Rutex R2020 servo motor controller board originally designed a few years ago.

https://github.com/lukeweston/R2020Interface

If, for whatever reason, we decided that more boards were needed, this new design is updated and improved, but there's not really anything "wrong" with the existing boards that requires them to be replaced or anything like that.

- Smaller, more compact.

- Doesn't require an external 24V power supply, since the 60V motor power supply is regulated down on board. (Not much current is needed here)

- The regulated 24V and 5V rails are bought out to external terminals in case they're needed, but there's no reason I can think of why they'd be needed right now.

- Smaller 2-pin Molex KK header for the CAN twisted pair, the DE-9 was a bit of bulky overkill I think. The CAN interface should otherwise still be completely compatible with existing hardware.

- Now includes rounded corners.

- Everything SMD except the connectors.

- Jumpers to easily choose between interfacing to the R2020 in either step-direction mode or SPI mode.

Basically, not much has changed, but the fully-integrated 2-channel power servo controller with both motor drivers and CAN and everything fully integrated into one open-hardware board and eliminates the need for the R2020s isn't ready yet, but it's nice to have something fresh to show everybody that we're still alive.

Regards,
  Luke
