Congratulations! To George Thym for his first Dual deployment rocket( The Loc Weasel) on an I225FJ. It popped the chute right at 700ft and landed right by the mid power pads and Hit 3500ft. Good job Brother George.
My Weasel Hit 4845ft on an I284W.  SWEEET!
It was also nice to see a middle school with many Teachers and kids there doing rockets.

While the Chili was great, just walking around with a warm bowl in your hands was priceless.

The day started out really beautiful. At 8 am, there was not a cloud in the sky and there was no wind. It was cold, but the sun made it bearable. Jackets were actually coming off in the morning. About 9:30 a little wind came up and the fog blew in. All the jackets went back on and the ceiling dropped to about 2000 feet to the consternation of all the HP fliers. About 12:30 the skies cleared and we got off all the waiting HP rockets. Then it fogged in again at 2:00.

The barbecue was really popular. We lit it up just as soon as we finished setting up the pads and kept it fed with charcoal all day. It didn't take long to figure out that it wasn't going to be enough so we sent the kids on a driftwood search and lit up the campfire. Very popular place for the rest of the day.

All in all, not a bad day but that hot shower when I got home really felt good.

Bill

Great Chili, Alan.  Cathy said it was really good (and she normally only likes her chili, BTW ;-)

I got in one H flight during that small window from 11:45 to 1:00.  Actually, if not for Christopher Raimondi (who has good, young, eyes) I would have lost it since the clouds were rolling in about the point where it was launched and I lost it just after burnout.  But all is good, and it's in the garage now.

Thanks to whomever made the camp fire!  That was pretty much how my wife stayed warm all day, and that was a great thing for me!

Just posted my photos in the gallery, less than usual as I was prepping the M that will wait for Feb, March or April.

But I did get my Binder Thug off on a very old I357 blue thunder motor (came with a high-power Copperhead igniter no less).

And had a blast introducing a new family to rocketry, with the G-Force on a G-40.
