Hi Everyone - this is Gene the Aeropac launch director.  Mudrock is just around the corner, setup is June 15 , and the launch is June 16 - 18.  Not much time to get ready so get going!
Right now only two folks are signed up to help, not much!  We can't launch unless we have folks who can step up and help get the equipment out to the site! You can signup here to help with the launch - http://media.aeropac.org/launchduty.pl?action=show&mudrock=X. Also please make a few hours available and help with LCO and RSO duties.

I see a Tony J350 signed up to bring out the Port-o-potty. Tony A, is that you?

Get the Aeropac trailer out to and back from the launch site:

I need a volunteer who can help me get the Aeropac equipment trailer out to the site and back.  Anyone with an open hitch can help.  If you have a big truck you can tow the trailer directly.  Or if you just have an open hitch I can tow out the equipment trailer and the volunteer can tow out my little trailer.  Please someone do step forward, it's hard to have a launch unless we have our equipment out there. I'm going to try to be at Empire around 4PM on Thursday.

Vendors at the launch - We have a few vendors and manufacturers representatives:

Rocket Supplies - Fred and Daniel has a broad range of products including motors, kits and other fun stuff.  Fred is also an authorized Fruity Chutes reseller.

Fruity Chutes - I'll be there as usual, but any parachute sales will be handled by authorized resellers.

Rouse Tech - Tom will be out for Rouse Tech and has a broad range of AT motors.  Tom also has his CD4 system and a variety of other products.

Aerotech - I'm not sure if Carl or Gary will be out?

Anyone else?

In any case be sure to let the vendors know what you need to purchase ahead of time.  The days with BAR at the launch the huge inventory of motors and supplies at the launch are over for now.

I don't have specific waiver information for the launch, I'll let Jim fill that in.

Temperature for the weekend looks good right now, no excessive heat with highs Thursday to Sunday under from 75 to 80 degrees. Looks like we could have afternoon winds as usual so flying earlier in the day is a good idea.

Important playa conditions - Thunderstorms are forecast for Saturday (today) through Monday.  No storms are forecast for Tuesday through next Sunday.  The playa should be dried out by Thursday. Regardless, be very careful driving out and watch out for soft spots. DON'T GET STUCK!

The BLM now asks that "gray water", like you would use to wash with, is NOT dumped on the playa. So bring an extra container to take out your grey water.  If the water is clean enough to drink then no problem.

Jim, do you have anything else to add or correct?

Getting There: Here is a link to the Aeropac Finding the Launch Site webpage:

The launch GPS location will be at or very close to:  40 52.241'N 119 6.417'W

I'll try to get out there around 4PM Thursday. Depending on the arrival of people we may setup Thursday, or Friday morning if we don't have enough people out there.

See everyone soon!!

- Regards

Hi Everyone - this is Gene the Aeropac launch director.  Mudrock is just around the corner, setup is June 13 , and the launch is June 14 - 16.  Not much time to get ready so get going!
Here is our page describing the various volunteer needs - https://www.aeropac.org/launches-1/launch-duty/.  You can sign up here to help with the launch - https://media.aeropac.org/launchduty.pl?action=show&mudrock=X. Please make a few hours available and help with LCO and RSO duties.  Right now we have a few folks signed up to help.  Darryl Paris is signed up to tow out the trailer, thanks Darryl! But no one is signed up to tow it back.  I can also tow the equipment trailer back, but I need someone who can tow my little trailer to Empire when I can take it after I drop the big trainer.  Contact me if you have an open hitch and can help. I plan to be at Empire around 3:30PM Thursday.

Another key volunteer spot is we need someone to tow out the porta potty.  No potty, no launch.  We pay you $100 to help and cover gas.  See the launch duty page for information on towing the potty - https://www.aeropac.org/launches-1/launch-duty/.

Vendors at the launch - We have a few vendors and manufacturers representatives:

Fruity Chutes - I'll be there as usual, but any parachute sales will be handled by authorized resellers.

Rouse Tech - Tom, you coming out with product to sell or display

Aerotech - I'm not sure if Carl or Gary will be out?

Anyone else? Let me know so we can plan the vandor area.

I don't have specific waiver information for the launch, I'll let Jim fill that in.

Hi everyone - this is Gene the Aeropac launch director.  Mudrock is just around the corner, setup is June 19 , and the launch is June 20 - 22.  Not much time to get ready so get going!

First business, The Launch Duty calendar needs to be reset for 2025.  Who knows how to do that? So I can't comment on who we have to help. In any case we need folks to please make a few hours available and help with LCO and RSO duties.

Do we have anyone to pull out the porto-potty?  No potty, no launch!

I believe Tom Rouse is bringing out the trailer to Mudrock, Tom, let me know if you can still do that and what time you might arrive. Several of us have keys to the trailer.

Vendors at the launch - We have a few vendors and manufacturers representatives:

Rocket Supplies - Fred and Daniel has a broad range of products including motors, kits and other fun stuff.  Fred is also an authorized Fruity Chutes reseller.

Temperature for the weekend looks good right now, no excessive heat with highs Thursday to Sunday under from 62 monings to 85 to 90 degrees. Looks like we could have afternoon winds as usual so flying earlier in the day is a good idea. I don't see any rain.

For any folks that get there early and mark out the vendor area on the east side we have:

Aerotech - 20 ft corner east side
Rocket Supplies - 40 ft East side
Fruity Chutes - 20 ft East Side
Rouse Tech - ?  Tom what space do you need, east or west side?
Everyone else east side

For the west side:
Corner West side - Eric K - 20 ft west side
Greens - Rest of the west side? Un well maybe not so much and they will share ;)

The BLM now asks that "gray water", like you would use to wash with, is NOT dumped on the playa. So bring an extra container to take out your grey water.  If the water is clean enough to drink then no problem.
