Right now we only have a few people signed up to help, not much! We can't launch unless we have folks who can step up and help get the equipment out to the site! You can signup here to help with the launch - https://media.aeropac.org/launchduty.pl?action=show&aeronaut=X. Also p
lease make a few hours available and help with LCO and RSO duties.
Here are some critical volunteer tasks we MUST have help for:
Tow equipment trailer - Tom Rouse has volunteered! Thanks Tom!
Haul PortaPotty - No one - No potty, no launch. It you have an empty hitch and go through Reno/Sparks this is pretty easy. They are not that heavy.
Range setup angles - Only two volunteers! The launch duty positions are pretty much all open
Range duty - LCO, RCO - Just a couple volunteers as well. The launch duty positions are pretty much all open
Range teardown angles - Same two volunteers!
Hey so it is as hard as pulling teeth to get volunteers. We have a couple really important positions to fill, hauling the trailer, and getting the potties in and out. For the potty we cover the cost and gas to and from the launch so that is a bonus! But getting the equipment trailer to and from the launch site is very hard. I'm tempted to cancel the launch if we can't identify the potty and equipment trailer by next Wednesday (tough love folks ;)! Someone step up!! Tom did it both ways at Mudrock and did a double take sine he had his own trailer to get out and back. That is alot to ask of someone.
Vendors at the launch - We have a few vendors and manufacturers representatives:
Rocket Supplies - Fred and Daniel has a broad range of products including motors, kits and other fun stuff. Fred is also an authorized Fruity Chutes reseller.
Fruity Chutes - I'll be there as usual, but any parachute sales will be handled by authorized resellers.
Rouse Tech - Tom has is CD4 system and a variety of other products.
Aerotech - I'm not sure if Carl or Gary will be out?
Anyone else? In any case be sure to let the vendors know what you need to purchase ahead of time.
I don't have specific waiver information for the launch, I'll let Jim fill that in.
Weather is too early to tell, Thursday and Friday look good, but who know ;)
Jim, do you have anything else to add or correct?
Getting There: Here is a link to the Aeropac Finding the Launch Site webpage:
The launch GPS location will be at or very close to: 40 52.241'N 119 6.417'W
I'll try to get out there around 4PM Thursday. Depending on the arrival of people we may set up Thursday, or Friday morning if we don't have enough people out there.
See everyone soon!!
