Hello all -

OK, the popularity of these launches is exploding! Our first launch, held in December for three of my teams, was just 4 or 5 flights. A week later we held the first "public" launch to let other ARC teams join us, we had around a dozen (I didn't keep flight cards yet). In contrast, here's a look at the next 4:

Launch Date: Total Flights:
1/24/2026 18
1/31/2026 19
2/28/2026 65
3/14/2026 95

While I'm glad we're providing a service to all the teams around the Bay Area, this exceeds the terms of our agreement with the College. According to the lady who schedules field rentals, this many people (anything over 30) constitutes an "event" rather than an educational activity. I'll be renegotiating our agreement with the school, but it will be much more expensive. I don't have a number yet, but we will probably have to start charging teams per launch (that's launch as in the daily event, not per flight). LUNAR is a volunteer organizations and we don't have the resources to provide events this large for free.

Anyway, if you want to see how those 95 flights were distributed, here's the breakdown:

ARC-only Launch Launch Date: 3/14/2026

Launch Location: Ohlone Newark

Total Flights: 95

Motors consumed 107

Total Impulse expended: 4,611 A high range "L"

Average Impulse Per motor: 43.1 A low range "F"

Per flight: 48.5 A low range "F"

1/4A 1/2A A B C D E F
Flight Breakdown: 0 0 3 2 1 6 16 67
Motor Breakdown: 0 0 4 9 1 10 16 67

As for teams, there were 27 schools and other organizations present, if I read the cards correctly. But I know that Milpitas HS has 5 (!) teams, so there were a minimum of 32 teams attending, and probably more. That is 3% of the entire registration of the whole nationwide contest! At one little local launch! I Think we're going to need a bigger boat...
