I have been using Luminotes Desktop for a while. With the demise of
luminotes.com I am a little nervous about accumulating more and more
of my notes in Luminotes without understanding the software's import-
export features. Nothing lasts forever and sooner or later, I will
probably want to migrate my content to some other application. Can
someone educate me about the basics of the CSV files that Luminotes
reads and writes? When one exports a notebook, each note gets one
row, and all the contents of the note are in the first column. How
standard are the formatting flags? How would I go about viewing this
content is some type of editor that would correctly interpret the
formatting? Is there any other application I could import these CSV
files into without losing all the links that connect the notes in a
notebook? I have some elementary programming skills but have never
done anything with markup languages.

Luminotes just exports standard HTML into the CSV file. Links between
notes are done by note id, and each note row has its own id. So
theoretically you could import the CSV into another program and
maintain all of the links by looking at the note ids. In fact this is
exactly what Luminotes does when you import a CSV.
