Why did Luminotes stop?

Ok, I haven't even tried the software yet, but I'm intrigued. Just
wondering if anyone knows what prompted the author to discontinue
supporting the product? What was the previous business model?

The previous business model was "freemium". Free 30 MB storage, pay
for more.

I don't know about you guys/gals but I only used text in my notes, so
30 megs would last me a lifetime.

It's difficult to charge for these kinds of online products. People
are so used to having them for free. But if you give too much away
most will never have to pay anyways.

In any case it didn't work out for him.
